Quick Questions 2012

Where do I pick up scare maze tickets on the park? :)
You can visit the Box Office on Towers Street, on the right hand side as you enter the park, towards the bottom. Alternatively, any of the Sales & Information booths around the park (X-Sector, Mutiny Bay, Forbidden Valley & Dark Forest) will sell you them, at any point throughout the day, assuming there are time slots available.

Is that the same if you've already booked them? Sorry, I wasn't very clear. :)
Apologies! In this case, I would assume the Box Office is your port of call. :)

Anyone know if staff passes/magic passes cover the fireworks event and if not are there any current deals available for cheaper entry?

I had the same predicament, I emailed Guest Services and they told me preferably they should be collected at the advanced ticket collection point by the entrance - however, they said if we wanted to collect them later on this was fine, this could be done at the Box Office.

Does anyone know if you can get Towers2 tickets on MAP friends and family tickets?
Yes. They rarely ask for a ticket, unless you purchase at the Box Office, in which case they only take a glance at it. I regularly purchase multiple Towers2 Tickets with my Merlin Annual Pass, for people who weren't on park that day, but could get in the following day for just £5!

Are the buses extended for Scarefest or not? :)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know they are not extended.

Scarefest mugs...do they exist? Are they ceramic or those travel mug things? Can you get them at the Towers Street store?

Does the Skyride close at dusk during Scarefest?

Yeah, it does.

I believe it closes at 3 with the Gardens and The Flume, but I'm not 100% sure.

It's advertised as 3pm to avoid disappointment, yes, but in reality the closing time for these attractions is generally between 4:30pm to 6pm, obviously gradually getting earlier as the nights draw in.

Does anyone know what the wooden barrel shaped things that spin in the rapids are called and what they do? I'd rather not guess. :p

On rare occasions boats may move to the side at that part of the ride, so those spinning things (they aren't actually called that, just in case you think I'm serious :p ) are there to move the boat back into the right direction/flow. Generally on the rest of the ride it's narrow enough for rapid boats not to move anywhere else. They are only on the more open area parts of the channel.

Edit: Or what mrbrightside said, yeah. :p

Thanks, Scott and James! :D

I don't suppose they have a specific name, do they?

I did have a good look for you, and did some digging into all the manufacturers websites. Although nothing came up. So I can't help you there. I'm honestly not sure if they have a name. I assume they would as they are one of the key components for most rapid rides.
