Mainly to do with the severe amount of traffic trying to jump on it at once, it's the same for the others and the MAP website also.

How many people are booking their slots right now for the whole website to crash. Surely no more than 5k. Its pathetic not only does it get pushed by 2 days but now they're having problems again. Useless, shambolic, awful, incompetent merlin

It's not so much the number of people booking slots, as the sites went down before that. Merlin's sites are just not designed to scale up to so many people visiting at once.

All it needs is a rapid surge in numbers to cause a website to wobble. I'm no web developer, but it's a fairly common sense-driven conception.

Merlin never were great at throughputs.

This is the closed season equivalent of everyone rushing to Spinball first thing in the morning.

Good luck folks.

How can the website still be down after 10-15 minutes. God sake merlin

Because every single man and their dog are still repeatedly smashing the website in an attempt to book it. Much like game console retailers crashed when the PS5 and XBSX were released. Much like Brewdog crashed when they were giving away free Lost Lagers. Their entire IT department will be trying to stay on top of it, but that still won't resolve the constant smashing of traffic.

They shouldn't of released a specific time thats a schoolboy era. Why didn't they just say from 10th March.

Edit: the website is now working again but there is no link

Because then people would complain that they weren't told what time the booking went live, and missed out on tickets.

They'd have been better off with a virtual queuing system.

Edit: My bad. There IS a virtual queuing system.

Many people are reporting they get an error when entering bar codes almost as if the system doesn’t recognise the extension to expiry dates.

So this is going well then.
