It’s easy to ‘find online’ about brain surgery but you won’t find me having a go at it on some poor unsuspecting sod.
There’s a difference between ‘research’ and study. I know who my moneys on here.
I’ve not prebooked the last couple of times I’ve visited Towers and gotten in fine. But perhaps that’ll change now it’s the summer holidays. More chance of being turned away at the turnstiles.
How much would it cost to replace the ride mechanism? I’d imagine a lot of the cost back in 2000 went into the refurbishment of the towers and the main construction. Assuming some of the vault theming could be salvaged, it might not cost a prohibitively high amount for Merlin to replace it. I...
I’d say it’s well worth a visit just for Megafobia. Not to mention that they have a couple of ex-Camelot credits to gain in the old dragon coaster and their log flume.
Does anyone know if the other entrance is still in use? I usually drive in and go through the entrance by Dragons Fury, but I'm getting the train tomorrow so the other entrance is a bit closer I think.
I’m a Train Manager for Avanti, so I’m well versed in the stations between Preston and Euston via Birmingham. Other than that though, I’ve not really visited many others. It’s always a bit if a busman’s holiday. Especially when I travel with friends and always get ‘what does that mean’ at the...
Yeah I’m a pass holder, we’ve booked through the holiday club and for 3 of us it’s worked out at £40 each for an arctic explorer room. Not bad for a bed for the night and breakfast in the morning :)
Hi all. Just booked an overnight stay at the ATH for Sunday 27th. We won't be getting there until fairly late, around 10pm. Does anyone know whether the bars will still be open this late?
Reading the info on the link that @KolonelKlink posted, I’m not sure whether it’s actually intended for tourists. It seems to be almost a community space; perhaps that’s their target market?
I moved to London for uni in 2006 and completely fell in love with the Trocadero. Coming from Stoke I’d never seen anything like it. I think what really sold it for me was the pinball machines; they had so many of them and from what I remember they were kept in pretty good nick. I was gutted...
I'm pretty happy about this. London's been missing this sort of thing ever since the Trocadero, and more recently Namco Funscape closed. Really hope that it's a success!
At one point it was running on just 2 today. I could see the third train sat in the maintenance bay, as they’d very kindly left the fluorescent lights on for me to see it in all its glory.
I’m a big lad, 6ft, 48/50 chest and a 40 inch waist and 19st 3lbs. There aren’t any rides at Towers that I can’t fit on, but here’s a breakdown of specifics.
Smiler - No issues, occasionally need a shove
Oblivion - Always need the bigger seat
Nemesis - Usually fine in a standard seat, but...
The difference with those environments though is that you’re sat in the same position around others for an extended amount of time. There’s no alternative there. I think we’ll still see some social distancing for a while to come, and some form of checks, but I’m not sure if it’ll be full...
