20+ years ago it used to run 7 trains.
When I was younger it was unheard of to walk to the park entrance, even if the queue filled the station and was sprawling down the pathway outside you'd still be on in less than 10 mins. Those were the days.
They didn't have it closed off all day yesterday, it was just because the Non-ambulant RAP queue was huge for most of the day. On our second ride there were no wheelchair users waiting so the ride host opened the chain and let us sit on the back row.
Safe to say it's not lost any of it's...
Smiler was on 3 yesterday so would assume it's the same.
Most coasters are on reduced capacity except Galactica which was running 3 crafts yesterday which was great.
We queued twice from the entrance and both times it was a 2 hour wait. I do feel they could have operated it a bit faster but it was pretty good considering the ride team haven't ran it with guests for over a year.
The queue also moved almost constantly (even faster with no RAP/Fastrack being...
There were about 90 guests left in the queue by the time they got it running again, they then resumed operation to run off what was left.
We were lucky enough to get on it at about 20:25, still an incredible ride in the dark
It may be busier on Saturday but you get 3 extra hours more than Sunday to get on stuff.
I'm going on opening day simply to ride Nemesis, I can't wait any longer than that :tearsofjoy:
I mean, it could be more punchier if less rides are running at the same time, as yes more power can be diverted to Ripsaw alone. I was more meaning it was a myth that they ran it on less power hungry settings to avoid power cuts in the area.
If they did have a mystery series of power cuts in...
Wicker, Th13teen & Galactica should be on 3 trains minimum at the weekends.
We've already seen Nemesis testing with 2 trains so I should hope they'll be running both come opening day :tearsofjoy:
The story of power issues in Forbidden Valley is an urban myth. I've been on Ripsaw on the most intense settings before during the day with Skyride running.
It's likely the main reasons for running tamer settings during the day is that they are shorter, so better for running off a large queue...
With Sub-Terra, the tank and now this assumed helipad, clearly they are making the top end of the area more like a Phalanx facility than an apocalyptic wasteland. Even the area entrance structure you can just about make out in the corner of those photos looks like tall security fencing.
Maybe...
They may be running different wheel compounds on different trains, to test running speeds. My guess is the empty train has completed the required testing (hence no dummies) and is running at the correct speed, the train with dummies on might still be testing new compounds.
I'll save my judgement for opening day. Fingers crossed everything is working and we don't just get 2 extra hours of trying to get on rides that keep breaking down :tearsofjoy:
There does seem to be a slightly more positive atmosphere heading into this season than previous ones though which is...
I was just reacting based off your assumption that something will continue to happen "because it normally happens" ;) things do change occasionally.
But if we're genuinely questioning it, maybe the bad press about ride availability and complaints outweighs the preparation for staff? They...
Just because something has been happening every year doesn't mean it will continue. The park management is very different these days and their priorities may have shifted.
2024 really needs to be a year of refreshing and rebuilding. Yes new attractions every year is great and all but that can...
