well it would be better than nothing. I would love to see AT opening time match other parks in the uk.
God, I would love seeing 10 till 10 opening during the summer holidays. but most would agree that this would be highly unlikely, manly due to staffing requirements (1 hour ERT on top, 13 hour days for staff) and disruption to the local residents.
even if the opened from 10 to 8 that would be a vast improvement on the 6 pm close they got now.

I certainly think that they should adopt the policy:
Weekdays (term time): 5.00pm close, extended if busy.
Saturday (term time): 6:00pm close, extended if busy.
Sunday (term time): 5:30pm close, extended if busy.
School holidays (Sun-Fri): 6:00pm close, extended if busy.
School holidays (Sat): 8:00pm close.
Scarefest/Fireworks: 9:00pm close.
Many parks have longer hours on Saturdays, because it's... busier!

I way I've always seen it is there's no harm shooting low, but reasonable as long as you're willing to extend if called for. At Drayton last weekend ride close was only meant to be 5pm on a Sunday in the holidays. However, they did decided to extend to 7pm as a result of the crowds.
The structure Dan has posted above would be fantastic if the park actively worked on extending whenever needed. Obviously some notice is nice, but it's not always possible. However, on the website it would be worth adding a footnote saying "Opening times given as minimum guideline. Ride close may be extended to meet demand without prior notice". That way people don't look and see a low time. They look and see a guide, with the potential for increase.
There's no harm aiming at a sensible low as long as you can extend. If people show up you extend. If they don't it's no skin off the management and staff's nose.

Looking at how Drayton do it, they have a minimum ride close of 5pm for the majority of the season, then depending how busy it is they extend. Again this is how some parks do it abroad.
Towers sometimes have the problem when it could be a 6pm ride close, yet the weather is bad and the park is completely quiet all day, which could be a 5pm close, but they can't do that if they have told people its a 6pm close!

I admit I'm not a big water park fan, so may not be the best person to pass judgment, but I tend to rate them based on how many slides / attractions they have. Splash only has 3 slides (The Flash Floods don't count since they are never open).
Of ones I've been to, Sandcastle in Blackpool and Splashdown in Poole have way more to do, and I've heard good things about Center Parcs.

I think it's far too early for a general 2014 topic so thought I'd post this in here. Seen something that looks like it gives a good indication to the start and end dates of the 2014 season.
I think the season will start on Saturday 22nd March 2014 and run through until Sunday 9th November 2014.
The dates that the park is available to be privately hired for, which can be seen here, seems to suggest this. I know it's very early to be thinking about 2014 but I thought it was worth mentioning.

haha, yeah that would be a nice quiet day for everyone, although I'm sure we could dwindle down the ride offering to get the price down. ie just blivvy, nemmy, the smiler & hex.
That 85k includes every ride & attraction I imagine, and as we all know " there are over 50 rides and attractions... "
It also states that that is from 10am - 4pm, so only 6 hours. I know it wont work like this, but the WHOLE PARK is 14k an hour, so I can imagine a ride such as nemesis or oblivion being maybe £600-800 for an hour. Especially as they will already have the staff in, the ride will have been running all day. So we just need 80 of us willing to chip in a tenner. With 80 people you could get 18 re-rides in an hour.... or £0.56 a ride. Sod the fair.

Hard to say in that area, as they could be doing historic restoration stuff.... Or they are fixing a drain.
Noticed today that they are building something on the access road you can see on RMT.... Asked around and it turns out its going to be a store shed so you can't see the bins that are stored there when on RMT.
