2016: Air - Re-theme to VR Coaster - Galactica

this video (on Alton Towers's Youtube channel)was quite interesting- about how they prepare new (or re-themed) rides for operation.

 
Can't say I'm impressed. Still willing to give the VR a chance, but that looks very underwhelming.
 
The VR experience may turn out to be brilliant, but as expected the physical retheme of the ride itself is both as tacky and unnecessary as expected.

The space theme with the uniforms are almost as bad as The Smiler's.
 
A good ride should feel immersive. Themed staff, station and ride. I think that themed staff do add something extra to the ride. It's something that i've noticed Alton Towers are starting to do fairly recently with their new rides.
Maybe should get Phalanx "Soldiers" operating Nemesis, to tie in with Sub Terra. Need some dark forest pit crew uniforms for Rita too!

Mind you, they can't even open food places right now so themed uniforms across the board are unlikely.

With RITA (off topic yes) no idea why they don't just change it to some kind of zombie race theme or something now rather than pretend it's still a race track covered in some trees.

Could have some fun with that! (Yes I know it's dark, but they could do it tongue in cheek, camp, and have a bit of fun with it - RITA is still a decent ride, theme it up properly - they've just done... well kinda... it to air)

I tell you what actually. I wouldn't mind VR on Rita. That is a ride it could breathe a bit of fun into!

but as spinba11 says, faff faff faff, you will be waiting a looooong time to ride this. be prepared to queue :confused:

Yes, but it would be harder to brace yourself on the corners if you couldn't see them.
