I will always come back for Nemesis. I don't know what to make of Th13teen, it doesn't excite me enough. Maybe if there was more of a show for the drop section, at least some animated theming or something. Needs more theatre for example, Have the statue facing backwards and just before the drop, it turns to face you with glowing eyes. Then have the bottom one animated with like outstretching arms as if it's pushing you backwards.

Some of the gimmicks work I think. I love 13, not my favourite ride in the park but it has better airtime than most of the other rides. I like the drop, as I am scared of falling it terrifies me more than all the other rides (except oblivion)

The smiler, however, does not work for me. I do not care about the number of inversions being a record.

I like the world's first elements. Oblivion, air (sort of), 13. The record breaking elements don't really feel the same though you cant deny that it brings the GP in.

Th13teen has always been a solid ride (shame we can't say the same about the exterior theming), it's just the poor marketing of it as a super scary thrill ride that leaves people disappointed with it. I think if they marketed it as a family ride in the first place enthusiasts would probably praise it a little more.

I have quite a soft spot for the ride. The outdoor section isn't great, it's good enough but over far too quickly, but the drop and backwards section make up for it. I quite like the theme music too and *some* of the theming, most of which has either fallen apart of disappeared of recent years.

I actually love The Smiler too, it's up there with Nemesis for me. The horrid concrete pit, concrete station and queueline ruin it though. The track design itself I really like though.

so readling the Long Term Plans..
New rides and entertainments areas
8.20 A number of existing rides would require replacement as they reach the end of
their planned lives. This is likely to include Ripsaw, the Flume and Blade. In
addition two large attractions/rides are likely to be developed in 2016 and
2019 (one of which may include a ride across the valley between UG Land to
the Forbidden Valley
) resulting in approximately six new or replacement medium
to large attractions.

Cross Vally Coaster Confirmed!

Where can we read these Long Term Plans bluesonichd?

The can't just remove the flume. Every theme park needs a flume, and that area was made for a water ride. Water coaster?

Remove Flume, replace with Chiapas...

Like, it's simple...
As impressive as it is, I want to see how it runs for the next couple of years. Intamin water rides (or any kind of Intamin ride?) have quite a tumultuous history... Valhalla, Perilous Plunge, Pilgrims/Giraffica, Shoot the Rapids, Hydro. I'm sure there are more.

If you remove The Blade and Ripsaw, where does that leave you in terms of flat rides? Enterprise and Twirling Toadstool. I think we could have flat rides in Dark Forest and or Katanga Canyon. Remember the RoboArm concepts for Dark Forest before TH13TEEN?

Thing is about flats, there's room and money, but they don't draw people in the same as a coaster. Yes, we like them, yet the gp generally overlooks them.

Ripsaw is certainly not overlooked, particularly in the summer.

The UK's theme parks combined have quite a hefty portfolio of flats if you consider it, it's down to the choice of what the parks opt to install. If they install something impressive which is plausible in the world of flat rides, they won't be overlooked.

Install a Nemesis Sub:Terra and well of course it's going to be bloody overlooked.

No, it's because it's a terrible experience, regardless of its external structure.

Skyforce hasn't had a groundbreaking impact for Pleasure Beach since it opened (which was to be expected as it was never going to be the greatest ride ever) but it's still had a noticeable effect and guests seem to enjoy it.

Just strap Maelstrom to a track. SW8 sorted.

Install a flat that looks awesome and is a hit, you have a potential capacity issue on your hands.

Not to say other parks don't manage it, but I would suggest that a new flat that was a big deal at Alton could be troublesome from a crowd point of view. The solution that a lot of parks adopt is to build something large and high capacity, but that's easier said than done at AT, of course.

It's easy to get an impressive, crowd-drawing flat with no hight restrictions on the area. Problem for towers is that without putting it in a hole, they can't have amazing flats. I like enterprise, I like ripsaw, but if I had to choose between 13 or blade for example, I know what I would keep.
