Id assume it will clear up by thenIs the ride still likely to open on the 24th, or has Alton gone safety mad and said that it has to be 20 degrees and have a wind speed of 1mph to open it?

Thought so, but tomorrow is better weather than Saturday, yet they're not opening it. It's very strange.Id assume it will clear up by then

It could be they want to wait for a big opening and are just using the weather as an excuse or GCI gave wickerman more stringent requirementsThought so, but tomorrow is better weather than Saturday, yet they're not opening it. It's very strange.

The ride is basically confirmed to open on the 24th as the weather is completely fine. They may open it earlier in the week but they aren't giving dates or times or anything which is stupid.

No way this is based on advice from GCI.
Joris was opening as soon as the temperature got up to 1*c at Efteling a month ago, and Wodan frequently runs in near-freezing conditions.
The advised minimum temperature for Wicker Man to operate will (almost) certainly be lower than for Rita and Thirteen.

Maybe they have to remove the snow. As unlike tubular running rails the snow does not fall off the wickerman track.Thought so, but tomorrow is better weather than Saturday, yet they're not opening it. It's very strange.

I can understand it not operating tomorrow. The Met Office, which has been the most accurate source yet, says 3c Average Mon and 7c Average on Sat. The Yellow warning also extends to 10am tomorrow. If it does not open Tuesday which it's also supposed to be 7c then that will be a bit weird.
Now I feel for those who booked Mon, Tues or Thurs, Fri and WM does not open but as bluesonic said earlier It's only a Rollercoaster and isn't going to disappear if you come back a few weeks from now.

Alton Towers' reply to someone on Facebook has hinted that there is still a chance of them opening it tomorrow, as they said that if they had decided to keep Wicker Man closed regardless of weather, they would have said in the status.

It wouldn't be a bad thing I don't think, fazing out the VR to 3 rows and then altogether would get Galactica back to its former throughput, and I personally haven't worn the VR since Scarefest 2016.Sorry for double posting, but if anyone is on park tomorrow, could they confirm whether the rumour about Galactica VR being reduced to 3 rows only is true?

Removing it all together improves the ride and through put.
I admire the TP industry for trying VR I really do but it's been a massive flop and they know it. Galactica (It's still Air in my eyes) didn't need any modifications. B&M beauty that it is.
Please let me ride WM Tuesday. Please please please.

Its not really worth riding more then once with vr, not a repeat ride thing.I usually ride galactica once with vr and once without.

same here, only used it on opening day and soon as found out it’s the same video every time it’s pointless. Its not really worth riding more then once with vr, not a repeat ride thing.

They could of added the other destinations to keep the gimmick going but haven’t

Yes, it looked promising when it opened and had all the queueline posters etc showing all these destinations, if you'd got a randomly selected one (or even if it just changed each season) it'd have been better rather than "nope we could only afford one, the posters are just theming".same here, only used it on opening day and soon as found out it’s the same video every time it’s pointless.

I wonder if they had an extra destination added this year?Yes, it looked promising when it opened and had all the queueline posters etc showing all these destinations, if you'd got a randomly selected one (or even if it just changed each season) it'd have been better rather than "nope we could only afford one, the posters are just theming".

Given that apparently only 3 rows have VR this year, I think that's unlikely.I wonder if they had an extra destination added this year?

I wouldn't be surprised if the VR is gone entirely next year.
