Plant weed tbh.
Be careful, your potential employer in the lighting industry may be watching
Edit - Yes, I did mean Varney and AT, related to a previous jokey post. Glad we've cleared that up

Is it me or has anyone else noticed the giant hole next to the station building?
Looking at the SW8 plans it seems to be the Pre-show or Station, Could we be going underground?

On the plans a few footers for the first drop after the tunnel appears to be directly on top of the track just before the lift hill. So if the position of the footers on there are accurate then maybe yes.![]()

I'm pretty sure the plans showed that the maintenance area would be below ground level.
Anyway, the SW8 site is looking fantastic! Great to see them so prepared for a new attraction for a change. Plenty of station foundations in place and they are beginning work on coaster footers. Compare this with Thirteen or The Smiler where the sites had barely been touched at the start of the season.
Plenty of great views of the site as well!

Has no one noticed the similarity yet? AMT has an American-ish theme.
Oh and the rapids photo has been changed from a jungle to a Grand Canyon.
Oh and isn't this being built by an American manufacturer GCI.
Also I have rumours (separate source to the one discussed on here) that Duel might be getting a retheme to fit SW8's theme. I guess GM will be rethemed as the new path between SW8 and Duel is labelled as Haunted Hollow even though it has no theming.

Are you sure? The map correctly shows two separate paths, the new one and haunted hollow.
and this sign shows two separate paths, with only haunted hollow being accessible.

People are reading FAR too much in to this Gloomy Wood connected to SW8 malarky.
1. We already know that the entrance of SW8 is connected to Mutiny Bay, see the plans.
2. Towers historically has a tradition of not connecting anything to anything else. Based on track record, SW8 will probably be randomly themed to Egyptian Pharohs or Pepper Pig or something, plonked right inbetween KC and MB, just to eternally annoy the fanboys.
3. If Duel gets rethemed (instead of refurbished) then I will eat my own testicles.

I agree there is no way Duel is getting a retheme next year. SW8 also won't be part of gloomy wood.
It's the same with every major alton towers project, there are people that read far too much into things (often newer members) someone makes a suggestion or has an idea then within less than a day it's going round as something that is actually happening.
If everything had been built that was so called rumoured to be happening with the last few SW rides we would have rides up there with the best at Universal and Disney!

I like the idea of the American theme as it would be so easy to move KC over to an American theme and they could quite easily refurbish duel and make it fit the American theme.
The new path will only be used on a temporary basis during construction and peak days. See quote:
