I imagine they'll probably put up a temporary façade of some description before they presumably start more extensive building work over the closed season. Though knowing EP, they'll probably start that a lot sooner, judging by what they've got done since the fire on Saturday!

I'm sure even an EP temporary facade will be a 3D model type thing with animatronics...
I reckon that Scandi Street will be rebuilt pretty much as was (with some plusses/re-arranging to take SOME advantage of the rather fresh start) and then Piraten is all bets off really... Wouldn't be surprised if it were just a modernisation of the original though but you never know with Mack...
It's 50/50 to me whether I want to see just a modernisation or a fresh take on it... Imagine if Mack attempted something like PotC in Shanghai for example?

A look at Fjord Rafting and some of the work already taking place:
They also seem to be assessing SPEEL DEEL along with the F&B outlet by Camp David:
There really is no hanging around!

Great to see a theme park trying to get things up and running no matter what. Unlike our UK Merlin parks that like to keep things shut

Perhaps maybe they'll demolish the ride and replace it, similar to what Thorpe Park did in 2000 who knows what'll happen we're going have to find out in future.

Not exactly much left to demolish... just clearing away what's left seems to be the main task nowPerhaps maybe they'll demolish the ride

Europa-Park are understandably being asked a lot of questions about the future of Pirates and have just said the following:
After losing the popular ride "Pirates in Batavia", the owner family Mack is thinking intensively about a new concept. At the moment we can already confirm that there will be another attraction for the whole family in the future.
It must be a very hard decision to make. Do they building something very similar, something with the same theme but updated technology or something totally new?

There is certainly no hanging about at Europa Park! The Mack family are what a park owner should be - they passionately care about the product they offer their guests & any imperfection if put right as quickly as possible.
I remember having dinner in Hotel Colosseo a few years ago and a familiar face was inspecting / helping himself from the buffet - Roland Mack. The owner of the place wandering round in the evening to check that standards were being maintained.

No messing around from Europa-Park!
The bulldozers came. The bulldozers bulldozed!
Certain buildings will need demolishing before it is safe to open pathways and/or rides to the public. Great to see they are wasting no time at all; as if my love for this park and the Mack family could not have grown any more!

I knew our constant chanting would, one day, lead to no good...The bulldozers came. The bulldozers bulldozed!

Can some one give me an in-depth guide to Pirates in Batavia?, some of the areas and scenes were themed as tropical and set in the far east before the cheesy Pirates of the Caribbean knock-off came in.

As far as I know it's always had the same theme since it opened, albeit with constant upgrades here and there.
I think one of my favourite parts was the drunken pirate on the bridge you passed under. The song he was singing would change to reflect the season at halloween or christmas.
Bits of it were starting to look rather dated though. The tiger looked very ropey, for example.
General outline of the ride would be:
Turn out of the station, small drop in to a large scene with a boat and fort firing cannon at each other. Then you passed through a town with pirates doing their thing. It finished with a more jungle themed section, with lots of not very convincing ape animatronics. Finally you passed through the chinese eatery, looping around the stage where performers could often be found ruining the atmosphere, before offloading.

It was always built to represent Southeast Asia. Batavia is the old word for the Dutch East Indies / Jakarta, hence the reason it’s placed in that area of the park, despite seeming out of place at first - it’s Dutch pirates ransacking a port in this area.
