Th13teen- Save the worst til last. The throughput has been diabolical this year. Ride running at half capacity or less this year. Therefore the queue moves really slowly and the queues get long all the time. Not enjoyable waiting for a slow moving and operated average family coaster. But if the queue is short then why not
Don't forget that due to the unusual weight requirements it was either reduced capacity or closure for Thirteen this season. Being a fan of it I'm glad they chose the former. :)

Had my final visit this season to Towers yesterday. was a bit busier than i thought it would be. Didn't stay all day as i was knackered.

Managed to get multiple rides in on The Smiler, Oblivion, Wickerman, Rita.

Missed my Nemesis fix but replaced it with a ride i never usually do because it makes me feel sick, Enterprise! I actually enjoyed it for the first time ever.

For me, i think all the staff have done a marvellous job in what's been a difficult year, Oktoberfest and Scarefest were both great too.

Despite the "scandal" of the season pass, i have managed to visit about 10 times this year. Will miss the escapism massively over the next few months.

It's interesting that Towers haven't decided to open their gardens as they did towards the end of last lockdown - I assume it's allowed, as the likes of Kew, Wisley, and National Trust properties are all remaining open (albeit with all indoor areas closed) during this new lockdown period.

I guess they probably could. However with the cold weather and start of winter maintenance they probably don’t want guests around the park with only the gardens open, it’s slightly different than opening in July. However they could advertise it with all the lighting and audio they have for the halloween/Christmas events and make more of a thing of it.

I am by no means a H&S nut but I cant imagine the gardens being particularly safe in cold, slippy and potentially icy weather.

^ That's what rock salt is for.

I can't imagine they would get much interest in just the gardens open this time of the year (with no additional facilties being able to open and no food & beverage etc). With the lockdown only being 4 weeks*, it's probably easier to hold off and have everything open for the Christmas event instead.

Well there's a vaccine 90% effective apparently so by spring next year things should be sorted
Nope.
This winters flu vaccine has yet to be distributed properly, a routine procedure that cocks up every year...
Why do you think this vaccine will be introduced fairly and effectively?
We are already up to five different variants of the virus, so we know it is shape shifting, before any vaccine goes into full production.
Another year of problems at the very least.

This isn’t the topic really, and only replying because vaccine misinformation is dangerous, but the winter flu programme doesn’t cock up every year. The Flu vaccine has a short window of effectiveness due to the wide variety of flu virus that can spread. Covid has and will mutate but the only mutations the vaccine cares about are ones that impact the protein spike and only one mutation has shown that and as it stands not to a point that will likely impact vaccines.

It is likely this will become a yearly vaccine but let’s not get dramatic about things on a page related to theme park general discussion.

I agree with what Dave says regarding both a vaccine and the topic of this thread!

Feel free to continue with disucssion about the vaccine in the Coronavirus thread.

How would everyone rank the theme of the coasters at the park. This may already be a thread I'm not sure. In my opinion, I'd say:
1. Wicker man
2. Smiler
3. Th13teen
4. Galactica
5. Nemesis
6. Oblivion
7. Rita
Rita doesn't really have a theme tbh so no surprise it's last

Looking at the TV guide for Friday, The Gadget Show episode states that "Jon tests the latest consumer steadicam technology." Could that be the segment filmed at Towers?
