Nemesis started the season with a lot of downtime (opening week it struggled), but it seemed to have improved a lot over the past month and has been working fine everytime I've been this year. Something obviously happened on Monday evening for it to be down the past two days.

2021: General Discussion
I would imagine the intention is to get both (or one) open for the weekend. Normally when a coaster is down for this type of maintennence, it's down for about 3 to 4 days (well, in my experience at least. Wicker Man was down for four days last year just before I visited in September).
Nemesis has definitely been having visible work done over the past two days, but any word of Funk N Fly? That's been down even longer.

Any work on Funk'n'Fly would require the company Towers hired it from to come and do it, which would obviously take longer.I would imagine the intention is to get both (or one) open for the weekend. Well it's operated by mellors staff who have previously gone and repaired it there and then! (Quite weird seeing the ride op physically repair a ride)Any work on Funk'n'Fly would require the company Towers hired it from to come and do it, which would obviously take longer.

Not necessarily. Alton could be responsible for fixing issues themselves. They do have their own competent engineering department in a massive theme park after all.

Nothing still from Funk'n'Fly though which is strange, I know not everyone will be bothered about it but it's still support ride at the end of the day.

Yeah I wouldn't ride it but I hope it will be back open as it will help to soak up the bigger crowds.Nothing still from Funk'n'Fly though which is strange, I know not everyone will be bothered about it but it's still support ride at the end of the day.
Even though nemesis and galactica still reach the same queues as before funk n fly came in. Seems like the park have increased capacity with the new attractions coming in, which makes the idea of then helping spread out crowds voidYeah I wouldn't ride it but I hope it will be back open as it will help to soak up the bigger crowds.

The idea of the new rides was to increase the number of rides people are able to do in a day, spreading the crowds out is a minor secondary benefit on account of each ride's relatively low capacity anyway.
Veering into queue discussion briefly, there's a myriad of reasons that queue times seem just as high/higher than before the new rides came in. The main one being that a higher number of vulnerable people who have had their vaccine and are no longer shielding, so are more likely to visit, so therefore RAP numbers are higher. Add in Fastrack being back in use and a larger number of new staff this year resulting in operations being a tad slower on top of that, and that better explains the difference rather than minor flat rides being unavailable.

Tomorrow has been moved to an 8pm close (was previously 7pm).
Given the push they seem to have this year on getting the average number of rides per day up it makes the 4pm closes even more jarring. I hope they are getting feedback from customers that it isn’t good enough. I would also encourage anyone who has visited and not been happy with the early close and the number of rides/attractions they have been able to experience to inform the park about this ([email protected]) so it is officially logged.

It's a shame that they extend a 7pm day but yet have no desire or no problem with 4pm closesTomorrow has been moved to an 8pm close (was previously 7pm).

Some weekdays in early June have been extended to 7pm, although that will likely be because it's half term. It's a shame that they extend a 7pm day but yet have no desire or no problem with 4pm closes
