I hope that child at the bottom of the last picture there is okay...
Also noticed recently: back in February 2019 when they released the updated island artwork with the finalised area names they already added unmarked Svalgurrok with its wooden structures on glacial ice out behind Frigg Temple.

I wonder if they did that to hint at a phase 2 or if it was intended to be part of phase 1 but was put on hold sometime after the concept was drawn.
I was actually surprised by the lack of a play tower with tipping bucket when Rulantica opened. These seem to have become a waterpark staple. So I'm thinking this was originally intended for Phase 1 but the winter opening prioritised indoor attractions. Similarly I'm sure I remember a Sauna being part of the original scope years ago.

This is what I love about Europa, they see an issue, they fix it. Always trying to make the product better, and making use of a forced closure.
I will say I still think it looks odd where the rock suddenly changes from grey to cream but I can see that changing one day when the whole ceiling is due a repaint.

We visited Rulantica earlier this month, and it was good to see construction on these two new areas progressing well. The areas look as though they will effetively triple the outdoor "water/pool" surface area (I won't say double/triple the whole outdoor area, as with the new grass area/recliner area it's massive as it is).
Can't wait to see this develop and hopefully open by the middle of next spring or early summer!

While not yet confirmed when it will be added to Rulantica thought I'll post about it here anyway. VR Coaster/Mack NeXT have been for a while developing SwimVR as seen in at 2:55 in this Rulantica Weekly episode.
A teaser for the future in park VR attraction exists in the Rulantica preview center under Foodloop - seemingly it will be called "Snorri Snorkeling".

Are we totally sure this isn’t an April fool?

Yes. Its been in the works for a while. Testing the prototype took place at a special VIP event in Rulantica in January in Skog Lagune. Michael Mack has previously tweeted about it.Are we totally sure this isn’t an April fool?
And I have it on good authority that we can expect to see it soon enough in the park.
Personally I'm quite intrigued it seems an interesting concept; just wonder how much of an upcharge will it be.

This teaser in the preview center has now been expanded with text "New Winter 2020. Snorri Snorkeling VR - the underwater VR experience".
Remarkable when you think next summer Rulantica is only about a 1 year and half old but will have already seen 4 expansions by then. Hyggedal (sauna + relexation area*) and Snorri Snorkeling before the end of this year, Svalgurok and Snorri's Strand summer 2021.
*Interestingly the teaser for Hyggedal in the preview center refers to it as the exclusive relaxation area. Wonder if that just refers to how its separate from the main hall or its an upcharge? Its set to be 1,200m2 in total. Feature 2 large textile saunas, a 200m2 outdoor terrace, loungers, sofas, themed sauna bar, themed showers, Hygge Supreme Hydda with private sauna and a panorama bar for visitors from outside.

It'll 100% be uncharge. Most German facilities do this for these kind of facilities. Probably €10 or the like. This teaser in the preview center has now been expanded with text "New Winter 2020. Snorri Snorkeling VR - the underwater VR experience".
