I'm not sure if that was official or if that was rumoured that they said it. If they did say it then it would've been to take the subject of it's closure away from safety issues I guess. Plus they'd never say "The Smiler is closed due to a sensor that need replacing" or similar because to some people (and tabloid "news"papers) that suggests safety issues.IIRC, didn't they say at the time they'd started their winter maintenance early on Smiler..?
