What was the 'More info'?
I know we have the embed function for social posts etc, and there's going to be a LOT of social media action over the coming weeks from both the park and fan sites alike. However, could we make sure we only post them when there's new information in them that's not already been announced or posted in the topic. The Towers tweet above for example is just a standard marketing tweet with no new info.

Remember, as with images - the forum is not a link dump. We ask that you include your own summarisation or opinions when linking to other sites etc. It's not a race to post, take some time to let us know your own thoughts too!

I was at Towers on Saturday and to be honest there didn't feel like enough to do. Thi3teen down all day, Nemesis a building site, Haunted house is a building site, no rapids and another flat taken out of X-Sector. It also just looks really run down however RMT was looking fresh. Towers really needs a few good flat rides and a standout, large new thrill coaster to make me want to go back as I probably won't bother going again until Nemmy is back. Just feels like the level of investment has been lacklustre and non enthusiasts I was with didn't seem to enjoy their day 😞

I think the park and Merlin know this though, I mean we have 3 major projects currently going on - Nemesis, The Curse and Project Horizon. Plus I’m sure there’s other stuff in the pipeline that hasn’t been publicly confirmed too.

I’m sure Merlin realise the flat ride problem especially when looking at the variety of flats in parks from within their portfolio, and I reckon it’s just a case of “when” for when we’ll see some flat ride investment.

I’m sure if Merlin decided to invest in 3 flats at this time instead of what they’re actually doing, people would be moaning that Duel is a mess, Nemesis is on its last legs and the lack of any major new coaster in the plans.

It’s true a lot needs doing at the park but it does feel Merlin know this now. We’ve just got to be a bit realistic with timescales.

Completely agree, as I said in a post over the weekend, I'd rather have 3 Retrosquads AND The Curse AND Nemesis AND Project Horizon instead of up to 3 permanent flats and probably only The Curse and/or Nemesis (or maybe neither) and Project Horizon. The flats can come later when these projects are complete (or in the case of Horizon, underway)

However big Merlin is and however much profit they've made recently, there is always only so much money in the pot. And let's not forget that companies and the economy are still recovering after the pandemic. To coin some obvious phrases: "Money doesn't grow on trees" and "Rome wasn't built in a day", jeez I sound old!

How are Merlin doing financially now obviously they were just starting to properly recover from the smiler accident with good numbers in 2019 and now there's been 3 years of a mixture of lockdowns and economic crisis's left and right.

I think the big amounts of investment is smart and will be a good incentive to bring people out especially as we all need a distraction from the day by day madness.

I think that is also why the buyout days are rubbish. The new attraction (Curse at Alton Manor this year) won't be open, often other rides can't operate if the weather is still cold and some things are closed for maintenance type reasons still (like Retrosquad this year).

By the actual opening day things should be better, new ride open, all retrosquad open and hopefully good enough weather for everything else

Im not a tech elitist but the rapids speaker installation looks shocking, surely that's not how the park agreed it would be done?

I can only hope that it's not finished yet. You don't have to be a tech elitist to know that it looks bloody awful in the pictures released so far. I'm hoping they'll be properly themed in or hidden before opening weekend, but given the current state of both park and ride audio, I'm not convinced.
