I've got a great name, very original and creative I thought of a few secs ago, it's called 'The Haunted House'
I think it will almost certainly have Haunted House in the name, but with a sub-name to differentiate it from the original HH. Otherwise some people might think it's a carbon-copy of the original, which it won't be.

Just seen this from a friend who's on park today...

The teasers are everywhere now, even cocktails are getting in on the act 😂

Edit: it has lots of vampire teeth gummies in it 👀

I’ll be interested to see whether they keep The Haunted House in the name or whether they go for something totally different. I think that could possibly be a sign of how different they want this ride to be from its predecessors.

If they keep The Haunted House in there or even revert back to The Haunted House as the name, then I’d expect it to be a bit more faithful to the original ride. If they go for something totally different without The Haunted House in it at all, then I’d expect it to differ a lot more. Although I digress that’s not necessarily a hard, fast rule; “Haunted House” has very broad scope as a name and theme, so I guess it could keep the moniker while being a pretty drastically changed ride.

Personally, I’m thinking that this overhaul could be more comprehensive than some expect, and that the ride could differ from its predecessors more than some expect, but I concede that there’s probably a good chance of them keeping The Haunted House in the name regardless.

Now, please don't take this literally, but I've just had a radical thought... Could The Invitation be connected to Duel's retheme, and a clue to it? Would explain the vampire-teeth gummies on the "Demise of Duel" Scarefest cocktail. Another reason I think this is because I also think that The Terminal at Thorpe could be linked to Project Exodus, as PE was rumoured to have a space theme.

Do you know @Skyscraper, I had the exact same thought!

I reckon you could potentially be onto something… Towers have done scare mazes to tease ride installations before, and The Invitation centres heavily around vampires, from what I’ve heard. The cemetery theme would also make an awful lot of sense in terms of tying in with The Haunted House, what with its graveyard queue line and the house being inhabited by “the dead”.

I'm going to finally cave and ask what the Ghost Corridor effect is because I'm catching up on this thread and I've never actually known what people are talking about when they mention it
In the corridor with the skeleton that flips the switch and the witch zombie, there used to be an effect where a ghost flew above the ride car. It ran on a track and was quite a clever effect, I believe it didn't last long though.

Thank you! Do any of the POV videos show it?

I'm Sure British Theme Park archive had a video on his channel with a snippet of the effect in the video, but I can't find it now :(

The Ghosts scream was done by the same VA for the screaming heads, and it would glow in a mystical blue. It looked like a typical blanket like ghost, but the head would stretch and look below towards the riders.

I think I know the new name. it'll strike fear into all of our hearts.

It was a huge ghoul similar to the demon in the first scene, there was no stretchy head.

On a side note, I’d like to ask you guys a question, if you wouldn’t mind.

Anything could happen, obviously, but am I the only one who’s a bit sceptical about this whole Emily Alton theory?

Personally, I wonder if Emily Alton would be an overly niche reference for most guests. Remember, she isn’t a major part of the ride and never has been; she is literally just a fleeting gag in the indoor queue line that some guests might catch a glimpse of for a second or two.

For that reason, I’m not sure about the prospect of a ride centred around Emily Alton. Most non-enthusiasts (and probably a fair percentage of enthusiasts) probably won’t know who Emily Alton is, and given how small her appearance within the HH/Duel was, it seems like an overly niche thing to focus on to me.

It absolutely could happen, but I’m not sure that I see it as the most likely option. Some storyline or narrative applied to the ride would be nice, but I’ll admit that I think an Emily Alton-centred ride would go over most guests’ heads given her fairly limited role in the previous iterations of the ride.

'tis now't but thoosie faf.

I don't think the GP would need to know who she is in order for her to be a bigger part of a new narrative. This new narrative could elaborate on a character we already know but that doesn't need to be pre-established. My interpretation of the whole "repossessed" thing is going to be the ghosts of the house reclaiming it, either in the sense of back from the zombies, or back to the original concept of a haunted house rather than a shooter game, in a more broad sense. I think that would mean it would make sense for Emily Alton to then be a part of this narrative as she is an existing character, albeit niche, and the childlike writing and stuff would surely indicate that she will be part of it too.

I just hope it (re) becomes a proper haunted house/ghost train. I loved Duel, but I have issues with shooting rides- so much is missed while guests are squinting at red/green LED's. Most visitors don't see all the mind-blowing work that has gone into the ride. I remember having to force myself to put down the gun at Legoland because I was MISSING so much by concentrating on 'dots'

I Remember the haunted house from the 80's. Not sure how viable a walk-through attraction would be these days, but a good ghost train would be amazing. Or a 'Haunted Mansion' style experience....

Excited!!
