Been thinking could we see a whole new indoor queue line when it reopens?
Like cause it has to be wheel chair friendly could they have moved the queue so it goes straight across the left hand side.
Now the only thing returning is the fire place, Emily’s doll house and the rocking horse/toys.
You enter the room and it feels like everything is back to normal to the clock on the fire place hits midnight and the whole room comes alive with the use of projected mapping and the head in the fire place says you shouldn’t have come back then laughs.

Have a question for the hard-core fans on here, anyone remember the Loch Ness monster creature near the end of the ride? Was it turned after after just the first season due to problems working with it?

Far as I'm aware there were a few features that didn't work due to the technology being not quite there yet. You'd expect since then technology has improved to make them work better than even when the ride first opened.

I think the Loch Ness monster only lasted 1 season since it was really unreliable. I don't think they replaced it with anything, and just left a empty space.

Same with the Ghost corridor effect and the troll in the swamp. Both very unreliable, ghost corridor was rethemed to the Skeleton corridor the following year most likely, and the troll was moved to the screaming heads scene the next year as well.

I'd love to see them bring these back with modern and RELIABLE Technology!

Speaking of maintenance, it seems Tussauds really let the ride run into the ground prior to Duel, it seems that even during the golden years Alton Towers have never really been the best regarding upkeep of scenery and animated features proving that nothing has changed with Merlin doing the exact same. :p

Would be interesting to see how various old characters such as the giant, Loch Ness monster monster and troll would look with a modern adaption.

I'm surprised no one's brought this up yet, but Spooks R Us Toilet sign has been repainted to a pinkish-Pruple like colour. Could this be the new colours they're trying out for the rides new signage when it reopens?

Is there a picture? Isn’t the HH lit up in purple at night? Could it just be a reflection of these lights?

I just Hope it's a test to see if it fits. I really hope they don't repaint the facade and the shop all pink next year... leave it all as it is but clean it up and replace the signage.

If I remember Toyland Tours closed midseason (end of June) in order to completely vandalise it in time for the following year, By early September work was very obviously underway with the façade being demolished and bits of internal theming being removed.

Whilst technically there is time to completely gut the ride they'd need to get a move on about now, and there still doesn't seem to be too much going on judging from the rear of the building.
