2024: General Discussion

The electronic barriers, where you scan your ticket, won't let you in.

Until this year, when you made an online booking, it generated a brand new ticket for you. If you scanned your pass, instead of the online booking, you were scanning a "new" or different ticket from your booked one. The systems are now linked. Your pass is linked to your booking, your booking is linked to your pass. If, on a sold out day, you rock up with just your pass and you haven't made a booking, the gates will not let you through.
I have scanned my pass fine when I have forgotten to Pre Book this year at Towers with no issue, you could be correct about sold out days but I don't think they are linked per se, despite the pre book being the same as your pass barcode

The only scenario in which I've ever suggested that you wouldn't be able to just scan your pass, without a pre-booking, is on a sell out / fully booked day.

Considering how poorly/inconsistently other aspects of the Merlin booking system are implemented, i struggle to believe that if capacity was reached on the day and two consecutive MAP holders arrived without bookings, that one person would register as the "final" available ticket and the second would be rejected but that's a premise nobody can ever test.

The station upgrade means it doesn't fit. The great station work far outweighs removal of FRQ. Anyway, back is best.
Front is best at night. There possibly is room to sneak the fence over a bit but not sure if it would give enough room for the front row queue. That was an error removing that because people are queuing for it anyway in the corner of the station at the front

They could extend the ramp out a little bit more and then widen what is left of the front row queue. Potentially….

I would rather have that front row queue than some fibre glass ribs/bones which I probably haven’t looked at more than twice in almost a hundred rides this season.

The operator was actively preventing people from forming an unofficial front row queue over the weekend, making frequent announcements over the PA stating that waiting for front row was not allowed.

TPWW mentioned about The Blade leaving on their blog yesterday and said there have been rumours over the years but this one is from a reputable source? I thought it had already been debunked as a joke?

TPWW has been wrong before, but regardless you can’t say it isn’t happening but this rumour occurs every year so I don’t think anyone can say either way at the moment.
