2024: General Discussion

The next development of this busy year seems to be plans to install 'a 252 panel roof mounted solar array' somewhere in the park.

The application, which has appeared on Staffordshire Moorlands planning portal today, makes no reference to where yet with the location listed simply as 'Land at Alton Towers'
Maybe AT want to start generating greener energy for the park? So they can advertise as been greener for the local environment as well?

Its probably a way to reclaim tax back off a government initiative. It would probably be going on something like Burger Kitchens roof or hotels maybe?

Maybe even a few of the rollercoaster stations if/when they get retrofitted or redone?
I would assume from the wording it is a single array made up of 252 panels, therefore I expect it will go on the roof of one building, most likely the warehouse behind the Towers Street Skyride station I expect.

Can I ask if merlin are doing 2 for 1 entry tickets on cereal boxes this year? I have not seen any around and they usually have this around now?

It’s not getting retracked again not a chance. If the new track lasts 30 years that takes us to 2054 and by then it’ll be outdated
No it won’t, but I think it’s been replaced to a better standard (thicker supports) and more on the high stress areas it may last longer than 30 years this time. No other inverts from the same era have been done.

I would melt down smiler and retrack nemesis again with it just to annoy you 😏

Sorry!

Plans are now showing online, it’s to be located on the roof of the Alton Towers Dungeon facing the south, which is the back end of the building.
