I never knew that that's really interesting to know! Here is the said rail in question, being replaced. In early 2004.

The photo is showing the whole rails on that part of the helix being replaced I think? Makes sense if there was a problem with stresses on rails there, it's the most forceful part of the rideI don't think there are any welds in that area, so the entire section would have to have been subsequently replaced if this were true.
Is that actually showing a replacement? Seems odd to me that they'd replace a small piece of rail like that within a track section. I don't think there are any welds in that area, so the entire section would have to have been subsequently replaced if this were true.
Well, you can clearly see in the photo. Due to the way the bin bag is sitting, that the rail is clearly missing from underneath.
I remeber it. They replaced the rail.
You can make welds pretty much invisible to the eye and not able to be felt. Other industries that do this all the time are the railways, with their continuiously welded rail. You can't see or feel the welds once they are done. The whole section has never been replaced. The rail has. Maybe you are not an engineer so struggle to work out how some of this stuff is done?
Lots of rides (including Nemesis) have had individual rail ties replaced too. You do not have to replace an entire track section if there is a problem you know. They are working with steel, a very very workable material. Same applies for ships, trains, railways ect ect.
Nemesis a firm feature of Towers promo ahead of opening, assume we can put to bed any rumours of it being given a season off for refurbishment.
What promo is this that you refer to. I haven't seen any adverts or anything this year ahead of the openingNemesis a firm feature of Towers promo ahead of opening, assume we can put to bed any rumours of it being given a season off for refurbishment.
Nothing too major, website and also their twitter post today which highlighted all the major rides including nemesis. What promo is this that you refer to. I haven't seen any adverts or anything this year ahead of the opening
I heard it was having technical problems recently but I imagine it should be fine for openingNothing too major, website and also their twitter post today which highlighted all the major rides including nemesis.
I'm assuming if there were significant plans to refurb then they'd not include it in the post but never say never I guess.

I thought for week days the park felt busier than normal last year. There was one day I've been in September every year where you could get walk ons, whereas last year there was 30-40 min queues
Exactly what I was thinking. Surely they'd have to push it on to the chain? How can a train not engage on the lift but able to be restarted without an evac?
