[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

I was in the queue at around 6pm yesterday and we heard a massive clunking noise as the train went over the vertical loop. (A sound a bit like when you hit a shipping container if that makes sense). The ride immediately closed after so that may explain it's downtime today and why there is a crane. Maybe an issue with the track. It's in a sorry state of affairs at the moment and it's very sad to see.
 
Nemesis will continue to have some minor issues here and there - the ride is old. Indeed, it's the fifth oldest B&M coaster operating that has not yet had major alterations or relocations. At this age, the ride will be edging closer to the end of its life and, as a consequence, will require major work in the next few years to ensure it is good to go for another two decades or more.

It remains the workhorse of the park and its loss is felt on all other rides when it's unavailable.

Fingers Crossed it can get a good run together.

I've often wondered that too. Maybe the idea was to avoid the constant stop start of the motors which causes extra wear. If you don't stack the train then they'd never need to stop.
 
I'm not a massive fan of Nemesis but I hope it can keep going as long as possible for those who love it!
 
It’s my favourite uk coaster so it’s sad to see it starting to develop some issues, hopefully like others have said it’s just start of season teething problems and it will be back to it’s usually reliability sooner rather than later. When the time comes it’s a must in my books for a major refurbishment! It’s a mainstay of Alton towers folklore, but then again so we’re a lot of other past rides...
 
It will be up-and-down for some time, I suspect. There are clearly issues hence 1-train and so on,.
