Looks awful, boring and completely clashes with the rest of the monster. When I posted a few weeks ago that it was going to have black track and the station would be a purple painted shipping container, I was joking at the time. But now......

I am sympathetic that Nemesis was a special case, in the 90s it wouldve been much easier for the track to be solid colour like 99% coasters around the world, even really themed ones.

It goes to show John Wardley really fought the corner on taking it the extra step as a themed ride, and Tussauds spent the money to get it looking as good as it did. It would be just as unconventional today as was then. Only maybe the budget (since it's not a new ride anymore) wasn't granted. Or maybe there's no one fighting that corner anymore so brand colours seems more obvious.

If it had been conventional, maybe black and red would've been their choice in 1994. But cos they did go the extra, I'm surprised many fans are so on board with losing that aspect of Nemesis. IF it's true. Even with the 2016ish works they knew to at least try keep the look.

I have to say that that does look very cool... I think black track could look really stylish, even if it had black supports as well! Those red supports do look much nicer than I'd expected, in fairness... if the ride looks like that in 2024, I'll be happy!

As for how black track and red supports would fit the theme; perhaps the track could be the steel pinning the monster down and the supports could be the monster's bloody tentacles, reaching to try and dismantle it?

It looks better than I thought it would, I'll give it that. However, the way it looked before the retrack began is, in my opinion, much better.

I mean let it be built before making judgement! For lack of a better analogy, it is like listening to a blind man try and pick out his favorite pornography video.

You cannot possibly accurately judge something before it is built. You can't.

For me, I am just happy we have a Nemesis in one form or another for many years to come. It had reached the end of its life and if we had still been under a public Merlin, this more than likely would not have never happened. No pleasing some people I guess.

Oh 100% and it is ashame that 4 of the major towers coasters will now have black tracks but it doesn't look bad just the black tracks are now overused by Merlin quite heavily.

But from the mock up and pictures of track it does look pretty neat.
Me personally I'm super stoked nemesis is coming back and the fact that (god forbid) if I had children in the future they would likely be able to ride it and red, white or black nothing is going to take away from that.

Bring on 2024 looking forward to see what other tweaks we get as long as the soundtrack doesn't get changed too much.

My friend who used to work in Nemesis Nosh told me they're keeping hold of the Duel guns and fitting them to the new Nemesis trains, so you can shoot the alien as you glide by it.

This is the attitude I'm going with as well, as much as the original colour scheme is iconic, the important part is that there is still a nemesis there to ride, regardless of colour.

On a separate note, if Nemesis was to look like that in 2024, honestly I'd be fine with it. My opinion on Nemesis probably won't change because of its colour, but probably will change based on it being smoother.

I think people are passing way too much judgement on it before we've even seen the final result.

Original logo and music, and the red river is fine with me. Black track will be fine.

Right place, and topic for such a discussion, it is a likely change to the ride, and most on here appear to have pretty happy and fulfilled lives, as well as being happy to discuss future possible colours.
Of course, if you believe, in the grand scheme of things, such a discussion is inappropriate, good luck to you for joining in the debate...

Considering we are on an Alton Towers forum, I feel like the colour of its most famous roller coaster changing, whilst obviously a ridiculously niche and trivial thing to be discussing in the grand scheme of things, is a perfectly viable discussion topic. It would be quite dull if we just spoke about queue times and the price of food offerings all the time on here wouldn't it?

If it ends up looking like at all that photoshop, I think it could look great. If they were to bring back the rivers of blood as well, those alongside the red supports could be fantastic.

It’s not confirmed by any means, but I’d say it seems likely. The track with the “IC-DR” sticker, while itself unpainted, is next to the black track and grouped with it, which would suggest that the black track is pretty likely to be associated with it, in my opinion.

The sticker with the code on it almost definitely alludes to the unpainted track being for Nemesis, in my view. “IC-DR” is a code that has also been seen on bolt boxes at Alton Towers, and that coding system is one that B&M have been known to use to denote their rides for the last 30 years (if you’re wondering what it means; IC-D alludes to Nemesis being the 4th Inverted Coaster contract that B&M signed, while R alludes to it being a retrack). Just because someone on here hasn’t seen it in person, it doesn’t mean that the sticker isn’t there or that it doesn’t point to it alluding to Nemesis. These types of stickers are official shipping stickers from B&M that have often been used to ascertain facts about a project in the past. This is hardly an enthusiast prank or something made up by enthusiasts to try and fool people, this is something that B&M officially uses.

Of course, the track may have thematic detail or something applied before it arrives at Alton Towers. There is a very remote chance that the black track may be unrelated to Nemesis, although I’d say that that’s relatively unlikely given that the “IC-DR” labelled track is grouped alongside it.

Are there any photos anywhere of the original 1994 parts with the code on?
