[2025] Project Ocean: New Forbidden Valley Flat Ride

Starting to get a bit worried about this, it’s meant to be opening in March I assume and there’s not even one shipping container installed as yet.

Another late opening?
I wouldn't worry, it looks like the platform is essentially complete and they just need to let the concrete set for a certain amount of time before the heavy ride hardware can be plonked on top. They'll almost certainly install that over closed season and it won't take long as flat rides are usually very quick.

I’m only messing, it was more a reference to Merlin’s love of shipping containers.

The biggest difference between Tussaud’s and Merlin was when a ride or attraction. was removed it was replaced straight away.
When I 1st went to Alton Towers in 1993 festival park now dark forest had the most flat rides with 1001 nights, Enterprise, Wave swinger and a little kids ride and now nothing.
Like I understand why the retro squad had to go but can’t believe they was no plan of action put in place for there replacements and I know we getting a new flat ride for next year but the X sector and dark forest sites needed them before.

Oh I'm sure there is a plan in place, its probably just a 2+ year one, the first results of which we're perhaps seeing with Project Ocean. While it's far from ideal, we just have to be patient. Ignoring any budget cutting over the next few seasons, I predict X Sector and Dark Forest will get makeovers like Forbidden Valley has had. It would be mad not to, considering how well FV has gone down with everyone and how it now sticks out like a sore thumb with its superior level of theming and immersion compared to the other 2 areas.

I was there the other day, the lift structure is now done and the scafolding arround it has gone, the unload stairs appear to be in and there is a portable lift thing on the structure by the load stairs.
The ride mounting points also appear to be inplace.

Green will be for toxicator won’t it? Would they also paint Galactica green? I mean, I like green, but there are other colours…
TBH, given how much algae covers Galactica over the years, painting it green might not be a bad call if I'm being honest. In fact with that algae factor in mind, surprised they haven't done more green coaster track over the years as Thirteen or even Rita would have looked good in green but that's just me.

I believe what you're looking at there is a white pipe with green lighting. But I'm not sure if it's recommended to thread fairy lights through your tumble dryer's pipework. 🤯
Yup. Probably gonna look cool in the dark though.

I just hope they don't try to claim the green glow is from radiation. Pet hate of mine. Should be blue. ;)
