[2025] Project Ocean: New Forbidden Valley Flat Ride

Am I the only one who thinks the colourways are a bit Marmaliser? There's something about seeing dusty black and yellow hazard stuff in the park that's very Ministry of Joy.

Of course, once Flubber has been, hopefully that side of things will be a bit muted.

As stated in the Horizon topic, it was extremely windy at altitude today so I'm not overly happy with image quality.

Firstly, there's not much left in the car park:

Ground level outside the park:

Fantastic images there Danny! 😍

Pretty sure the round things in the car park are the counterweights, we just seem to be missing the side supports, the centre bar and the ride gondola itself, hopefully they'll be here next week!

the center bar is there (look at the drone pics, shows on the concret platform in front of the ride) it looks like some sort of grating is installed on the front and back of the concret, I am curious what is it, protection from objects flying off?

If that's the case (which it definitely looks like), then my wish of the corkscrew style centre bar has evaporated!

It’s just great to see something there that’s not the absolutely thrilling Forbidden Sweep or Funk’n’Fly!

I’ve never really seen a top spin being constructed, how come the arms have been positioned at an angle?

Ah so it is, and it's completely unthemed.

I have a few guesses:
if the gondola was to be installed having it vertical would either make it really far from the ground or really close to the ground, putting it at an angle allow for them to control the height.
the counter weights may be really high up, but it can be closer to the ground.

My first guess would be to allow room for the gondola to be craned in underneath them and then attached. Looks like it will happen fairly imminently as it does look like the gondola on the truck!

Those gratings appear to be more of a steel ‘trough’ either side of the concrete. My thought is if fountains are in the concrete pit (currently where the central bar is) then these ‘troughs’ are to catch any spray or water that may otherwise fall down on people walking on the path below.

I'm not expecting fountains, spectators will not want to get splashed when just walking past. I assume the additional metal sections either side are just fall protection.
Constant water presence would give the underpass that dank subway/underpass effect however.

Air cannons blowing against people would be interesting but I don't think anything will actually come either way. Or even a smoke generator so people are spinning around in smoke would be entertaining.
