[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

Have to admit, if it is the op booth, it's quite a cool place to put itI was thinking that as well, think that might be exactly it.
According to Alton Towers, Toxicator is officially opening on Saturday 15th March, as widely expected:
Imagine being in marketing, producing an opening announcement video that doesn’t actually have the announcement date shown within it…
It’s just basics…
Either way, great it’s back. Just another 3/4 flat/fillers/dark/simulation rides to go…
I really hope there’s a mid season flat in x sector (indoor/covered breakdance) to go with the CBeebies coaster and a relocated or stored for future tracked vehicle ride for next season.

Brace yourself. The people telling you Alton Towers has a flat ride issue are about to lose interest in them all together when a new multi-billion quid park down south opens with fewer than you can find in Mutiny Bay and charges you £70-80 to get in.In the eyes of many geeks and vloggers, Towers/Merlin will never do anything right ever again because their name does not begin with a U...

As always I'll reserve full judgement until it is completely finished and I see it in the flesh, but at the moment it feels a pity that there is not a bit more theming on the ride itself, or least not a bit more depth or texture to the colours and materials they have gone with. It just looks a bit, well, off the shelf. Hopefully once all the effects are on and there's people around it will look and feel better.
Good that there's confirmation of an opening date, although I don't think it was ever really in doubt.

I don't think it's about a particular desire for flat rides rides per se, it's people wanting a solution for the parks capacity issues.
If Universal opens and they consistently have rides not operating whilst others have 2 hour long queues then people will rightly criticise them too. Outside of their Japanese park that doesn't seem like the way Universal run things.
Don’t wish to hard or you’ll grab the attention of a genie that decides bringing Scorpion Express up from Chessington is a suitable additionI really hope there’s a mid season flat in x sector (indoor/covered breakdance) to go with the CBeebies coaster and a relocated or stored for future tracked vehicle ride for next season.

More likely to be chessingtons wave swinger, I think Scorpion Express is pretty much done for.
It may look better from the ground, otherwise it looks like they’ve done a deal with the Sauber F1 team. On-ride you’ll notice theming less (for a top spin I’d say it’s more for people watching the ride) and unlike Talocan, you get a view both sides. Done both sides of Talocan and staring at the back wall isnt that interesting.
Cycle looks good!
Merlin haven’t got the greatest history of water effects and new rides recently though.

I'm very excited having seen the official vid. It looks very very good and we FINALLY have a new, good flat ride at park. I personally like the look.of it and FV is starting to look very good again. The shots with Nemesis in the foreground look brill. Shame about Blade!!!

I like how high up it appears. The screams are going to carry across the valley for sure

I think people will be terrified of this if they've never been on a Top Spin before. It looks so imposing and it really dominates the skyline in FV now.

I think with the way they’ve placed it, it won’t need those things you mention as it’ll be incredibly imposing. As for on ride, you won’t be noticing those things anyway.
I think the approach they’ve taken (from the little we can actually see from the video) is more than expected.

Full press release:
Those brave enough to submit to the spin can do so from Saturday 15th March when the record-breaking ride officially opens. Guests can even experience the ride for the first time in the dark as part of the Alton After Dark event.
The topspin ride is the highest of its kind, towering at 78ft thanks to its 16ft elevated platform
Positioned in Forbidden Valley, the ride is flanked by the ominous Nemesis Reborn, which was revamped last year after an incredible 18-month transformation.
Toxicator marks the next chapter for Forbidden Valley, offering thrillseekers an unrivalled variety of high-intensity thrills.
The only topspin ride in the world to be elevated above ground level means spectators can watch the entire experience from underneath.
Water fountains dramatically shoot up around the attraction, representing the chemical solution formed from the Nemesis’ saliva.
Bianca Sammut, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, said: “We’re excited to be giving fans a flavour of the truly ‘spincredible’ power of Toxicator.
“From the 15th March those brave enough to submit to the spin will be able to experience the latest that Forbidden Valley has to offer.”
Toxicator is the latest technology from the shadowy organisation known as The Phalanx and is used by them to extract and separate toxic saliva from the Nemesis beast.
The extreme centrifugal forces are designed to extract and refine toxic saliva from the Nemesis beast, converting it into a chemical solution so powerful it can melt anything it touches.
To book tickets to be among the very first to submit to the spin experience the heart-pounding power of Toxicator visit altontowers.com.
