[20XX] Euro Mir 2.0

Retracking Mir with the same basic layout would be a complete waste of money. I'd rather they remove it entirely and build something totally different in that area than just making what they have less fun.

What ever they do, no one will be happy.

Based on my recent experience, I would like to see a smother ride experience and an inversion or two added (Cant let Disneyland who have three inverting coasters beat EP), take the coaster from the 90s and bring it in to the modern era, but still paying tribute to what went before it.

With Voltron next door you don't want something to intense, but at the same time, you do not want to make it less intense than it already is. Maybe get the Storm Chaser trains, and make it the first intense coaster for younger members of the family?

Roland Mack in a recent interview again confirmed the Euro Mir project is coming and that EP will keep the Russia theme.
Next year, Europa-Park will be 50 years old. A new ride in the Luxembourg themed area is set to open at the start of the season. In the summer, the animated film "Grand Prix of Europe" with the mascots Ed and Edda will be released in cinemas, Mack announced.

He does not want politics, wars and conflicts to dictate the agenda for the park: "There are no plans to redesign the Russia themed area," he said succinctly. And a new build of the Euro-Mir roller coaster that has been there for some time, which has been speculated about for some time? The plan is on the cards, he replied - but not for the anniversary year.

Having been on Euro-Mir recently, I have found it rather rough however nowhere near as rough as Saw at Thorpe Park. I'd say it is a weak spot in the coaster line up right now.

I'd say for a Euro Mir project, I'd love to see it replaced with intertwining spinning coasters with one side being an Xtreme Spinning Coaster and the other side being a regular Spinning Coaster with two separate coasters for family and thrill.

I'm thinking that the Russian themed area may be difficult to keep long term in today's current situation with Ukraine although any potential changes will need to be completely impartial. I believe it's been bought up already earlier in this thread.

Whilst the original Euro-Mir is a classic, I don't think guests and fans will appreciate it being completely rethemed. I believe the building is sentimental however it doesn't look as nice as the other parts of the park.

I think a modern Spinning Coaster potentially utilising both family and extreme coaster layouts will go down a treat instead. 🤔

Roland’s made it clear that the park doesn’t want to engage in politics when it comes to the Russia area. Whatever you think about the inconsistencies in the Macks’ approach to when and where they get political, it’s at least clear Russia is going to be with us as an area for the foreseeable future.

Makes sense, it's best that Europa Park remains impartial when it comes to politics. It works best when the park pays tribute to European cultures.

Weak spot? I think you're looking for the Can-Can thread ;)
I actually admit EuroSat is similar as well and I do admittedly prefer Mir to Sat 🤔 I did find EuroMir rather rough.

Compared to the likes of Blue Fire, Wodan, Voltron, SilverStar and the water coasters, I do admit they're both weak spot coasters in the thrill line up. I believe Bobbahn is even an weaker spot though overall although it does offer something different.

Just went to Europa Park recently for the first time (phenomenal park, vest I've ever been to), and to my own surprise, Euro Mir was one of my favourite rides of the trip! I adored the Russian space theme with the really impressive Russian Space station outside. Unfortunately at this time the original music wasn't playing, but the old Eurosat Halloween music was, in which you can find here. Still amazing hearing that in the lift hill though! Couldn't help but nod my head to it 🤣

So, where to begin with Euromir. I went in completely blind, and I actually think, whilst quite janky, is a great ride experience all round. I love the Russian space theme with the indoor queue painted in UV Murals. Loved the usage of traditional UV tubes too, they gave the queue and Station a very quirky look and feel, in a good way.

The highlight of the ride though wasn't the actual thrills, but the first scene with the animationic astronauts and the amazing spiral lift hill with the lights acting as beacons as you slowly go up. The downward helix though was fantastic, one of the most intense I've been on. Love the mirror towers too.

To be honest, I'd really like to see the park enhance the ride with better added scenery. The outside is already great, but maybe the first scene and the spiral lift hill could be give a few extra stuff, like a more impressive, larger rocket in the lift hill sequence with the Christmas lights removed haha. But PLEASE keep the original music, people don't call it the rave coaster for no reason 🤣

On the actual ride itself, yeah, a retrack is needed, but the layout as it is has a lot of potential if it's glass smooth!

The rides theme is great and the music iconic, I have no love of the coaster itself however. It is possible just a retrack would do but I suspect they will do something new with the extreme spinner model.

I do enjoy the ride although I think it is definitely time it to be re-imagined. It is still rideable and quite an intense experience although I imagine that the trains are not that comfortable for people taller than me and you do have to watch your knees a bit on the restraints.

The cattlepen outside is one of the few grim parts of Europa Park. It gives me slightly neglected X-Sector VIBES with chewing gum on the floor, going round the back part of a food/drink outlet with all the bins and usually has a few people smoking despite the constant announcements not to smoke there. I don't think that the narrow inside part of the queue line meets fire regulations because they have someone at the entrance counting people inside before stopping more people entering the building which is annoying because it means a lot of the time the queue is not moving. The inside part of the queueline with the Laser Quest UV paint decor was probably already dated by the end of the 90s.

I have some suspicions about how mechanically and structurally sound it really is. It made some pretty disconcerting metallic sounds when I last rode it and one of the cars in the train that I was in was not spinning during the lift whilst the other cars were spinning which was a bit odd. I saw a Youtube vlog a few months ago where the same thing happened to the car that the vlogger was in. More worringly, on the hairpin section the vloggers car kept on locking and unlocking and making very strange sounds. It did lock into place before the first drop but then at the point where the car switches direction it unlocked, locked, unlocked again and then locked again in a sideways orientation for the 2nd half of the coaster section which must have been quite intense. Annoyingly I can't find that video now.

Personally I think they should go for the Can-Can treatment. Replace the track/trains/machinery as necessary but mainly keep the layout and towers the same as it is quite unique. But more importantly, do something with the theming to bring it up to Europa Park quality and do something with the queueline to make it less grim. Maybe they have scope to extend the entrance building and make the queueline indoors if they need to fix the fire safety aspect of the queueline anyway? The best kind of queuelines are the ones where you feel like you are progressing somewhere through different sections. It makes it less tedious even if the line is really long. I am sure if they brought the queueline indoors they could come up with some ideas to do a proper space theme using modern technology in the queuline which would make it feel more immersive.

I don't think they should go for an Xtreme spinner as they have Voltron right next to it which is their main extreme thrill coaster plus there is one coming to Holiday Park which is not very far away from Europa Park anyway.

That’s totally normal - front car of the train never spins.
