They are, it's pretty much a one man vendetta against the place though, in general it is quite well supported locally.
Tbh its always the haters that normally respond to online news …. Like they have nothing better todoThey are, it's pretty much a one man vendetta against the place though, in general it is quite well supported locally.

Great day at Adventure Island yesterday. Terrific value at £10.
A couple of rides closed (Vortex and Dragon's Claw the main ones) but nothing to complain about. Dragon's Claw is no longer on site and a new ride has been set up in its place, presumably temporary? The Go Karts have also been removed - hopefully this is permanent as it opens us a huge area of land.
Park was pleasantly busy with the Santa's grotto hugely popular. No queues for rides though.
Time Machine and Axis are both outstanding and remain two of my favourite flat rides in the UK. I have never ridden anything as intense as Time Machine was running yesterday. Crazy.
The pier is also good value in the winter at just a pound... but car parking for the day in the town centre remains a CRAZY £18.

I wouldn't be so sure, it's seemed to have been struggling for a few years. I was surprised when Axis came it was moved rather than removed. Not sure I've ever seen them bring in anything temporary to cover ride availability before either.
What's in its place at the mo?

Plans may have changed but they announced it was undergoing refurb - https://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/19621081.adventure-island-ride-undergoing-250k-revamp-21-years/I wouldn't be so sure, it's seemed to have been struggling for a few years. Oh yeah, I commented on that at the top of this page!
At least I was right that it was knackered!!

The Extreme is called Screature and is replacing Vortex (the Orbiter), not Dragon's Claw.

Yeah that's not a ride I would touch with a barge pole either.Dont know how people have the stomach for these rides. Makes me ill just looking at it. Hahahaha.
Sure it will be popular though.
From a technical perspective it looks awesome though!

Had a few hours on park yesterday, was pretty busy for a showery half term weekday. Not a full ride line up with a couple of the mid sized coasters and a few flats down.
The new ride is up and running, was holding a decent queue all day so seems to be popular. It does look quìte a size compared to their other flats so stands out well. They've done a nice job with a completely new back board, which looks great. The ride is sub titled 'presented in colour', ñot sure what that is about but possible it has some interesting lighting package? The park is open many dark evenings so it would make sense.
If anyone is nearby on Thursday they are after some promo photoshoot riders who get a wristband and lunch voucher for their dizzying efforts.
The park map has an interesting little matking on it, in front of Axis and stretching onto the departed go-karts site is marked up as 'major project Autmn 22'. In Adventure Island terms that could be quite a size of land, I've not heard anything about what this could be.

Why do businesses feel that association with Nigel fucking Farage is a good look?
It blows my mind.
