Apologies if this has already been posted, but notice they've added Oktoberfest related FAQs. This caught my eye:

Does Oktoberfest promote drinking/ is it a beer festival?
Oktoberfest at Alton Towers has been designed to bring together families and friends for a variety of themed live entertainment, delicious dishes and drinks with a German twist, as well as selected late-night rides. Whilst alcohol will be available in some of the family-style pop-up food and drink venues, the event has been created with a family-friendly vibe in mind which will be reflected in how the event is run.

I personally would have preferred to have the first weekend of October as Scarefest as oppose to having the Oktoberfest. With less scarefest days, it really don't leave me much option for visiting scarefest, leaving not many quiet days to choose from and an increase chance of visiting on a non alcohol day

This is the most random photo to use for Oktoberfest:

These women are all German.
Better still, they'll let you ride it with a raw sausage and you can cook it as you "feed the flames".......I'm hoping you can ride Wickerman with a stein of beer and a german sausage.

I'd like to think Alton Towers will outsource this to a company that can do it justice. That would be the best way to guarantee success and allow them to bring the event back next year even bigger and better.
If they try to do this but only serve the usual pißwasser then nobody will come back next year.

It’s too early to say how they are going to pitch the actual event but Towers will never advertise something as a “piss up” as it will attract too much attention from media and ultimately this is a family resort.
Umm, can they really complete the
(front facing) scarefest prep in only 5 days?
Regardless,
I'm still excited to see this event, but...highly anticipated sbno mazes + after dark closing + alcohol...all in a giant mansion, constructed almost entirely out of hiding places...it kind of seems like a bad combination...

They only do the non maze theming the week before the event anyway. If they are doing lighting then that can be prepped during Octoberfest.
