Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2023 Discussion

They've gone from the being easiest park in the world to enter, to the most difficult / frustrating.

I meant to mention this yesterday ... but when we were heading through 'security' under the ark, I honestly couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The couple in front had a back pack. The security person suggested that their bag would have to be searched and they looked slightly pained by this fact.

I am not exaggerating ... the search of the bag took took at least four minutes. Every item was removed, every pocket and zip compartment was gone through thoroughly, with a torch. The high drama ... a cigarette lighter was whipped from the bag and the staff member asked to see some cigarettes to go with it - they didn't have any. The lighter was promptly confiscated and the search continued ... only to discover some cannabis paraphernalia and there was suddenly a heavy smell of skunk in the air. The search continues and a grinder is found ... which is promptly confiscated. The couple are then allowed to go into the park.

A private enterprise finds a Class B drug or remnants of it in someone's bag, their action is to stick it in an unlocked cupboard and wish them a nice day on park. I do not understand.
 
Thought I was about to get an evac on icon there - problems with the second lauch. Has been reset and running again after about 10 mins. My train felt a lot faster than usual as a result, not sure if they can boost it?
 
Was testing well before the 7th and still didn't open.

Reasonable chance it will open on the 12th, but in what form and for how long is anyone's guess.

Are we having a spoiler policy or do we need to avoid the thread @Craig ?

It’d be great if people use a bit of common sense for really unique elements, but we’re not going to be doing a blanket thing like Alty Mans. We’re an Alton forum predominately and people could be waiting months to visit. Spoiler tags left right and centre are fine for a week or so, anything longer and its a bit of a ballache to be honest!
 
To be honest, I don’t think I’m going to be avoiding spoilers quite as militantly with the new Valhalla as I attempted to with The Curse at Alton Manor.

With Curse, I knew I was going to be riding it a week after it opened, so I thought it would be a shame to spoil the ride so soon before I rode it.

But with Valhalla, I honestly don’t know when I’m next going to be in Blackpool. My parents and I did speak about going back up there this summer and trying the train as a means of getting there, but that’s far from a given, and even if I do go back to Blackpool this year, I’m honestly not sure I’d even ride Valhalla…

If everything has been stripped out for mirrored water features and LEDs, we'd really not rather know.
 
Efteling was really easy, just went to guest services under the big straw hat and showed the passes. Took it to take the details and came back with the pass and a ticket.

Liseberg again, just went into the little customer services building and showed the pass and they took the details and gave you a wristband. Might've helped that one that about a dozen other pass holders had entered the park in the past 30 minutes.
