So yesterday was absolutely the busiest I’ve ever seen the Pleasure Beach. Even at 9:30pm Valhalla still had a queue over an hour!

I do really fear for the Pleasure Beach’s financials and we need them to do well if they’re to invest in more rides so hopefully this was a good day for them and they have more like it in the future (just I won’t go then 😂)

I think every park was busy yesterday. August bank holiday Saturday is always one of the busiest days of the year for parks, and with the added late close it was always going to be heaving.

Unfortunately I think pleasure beach has had a very quiet year overall but they aren't the only park with low attendance this year.

@shakey was just about to post about the £139 Platinum Pass for next year. It's generally been a fair bit more for first time buyers, I'd like to think it will still be a fair discount for renewers, otherwise £40 is a big jump in one year. No renewal email received yet.

Edit: Email here. Renewal price is £129.00. About £30 more than we paid for this season. No new ride to look forward to. Humbug.

Email just arrived. £129 renewal price.

Not a huge discount but I think I will be renewing. It still only represents about 3 visits if you include the food and merch discounts.

Mine has been an absolute bargain this year factoring in the included European parks. Saved 65€ just on Europa Park. And used my lass for free entry to Portaventura, Efteling and Liseburg. If you factor visits to them and Emerald park with its new coasters next year you only need to visit Blackpool once to get your value

Pleasure beach don't do much right but I think they have it spot on for the season passes.

£129 for renewals is still good value for anyone visiting 3 times or more and I don't think they will lose many existing pass holders at that price.

£139 for new pass holders is also very good and will hopefully tempt a few more people.

They've kind of got people by the balls with this. Charging like £30 more than the current season, but most current holders will still renew as the alternative is not buying one, then paying £40-£50 a time for each visit.

It's incredible value for certain uber-fans who practically live there, and still reasonable value for those who go a handful of times, when you factor in the food & drink and merch discounts. I guess it's worth grabbing them at this price as they will only go up, and once again they may limit the numbers available anyway.

Hilariously there is still the option to get a pass for the remainder of this season, for £160.

They could have done a limited season pass with say a maximum of 10 visits. They could still sell that at £129 and have an unlimited pass closer to the £200 mark.

But I suppose that just complicated things even more.

I would really like them to simplify their day ticket prices with a single price for any day (maybe slightly more for late night riding).

I am also not a fan of the 7 day advance booking discount. I think it puts people off because you can't really check the weather that far in advance. Most other parks now charge the same price for booking one day in advance.

I will have claimed all the European parks by the end of the season even Isla Magica. Was main thing that pushed me into it (and valhalla). Though I have visited Blackpool more as a result

That would depend entirely on which European park you visit most often. I'm a regular EP visitor, so I have an EP resort pass. I think the benefits at other parks are largely equivalent - I've used mine at Liseberg and Efteling as well as BPB

Icon has just been closed for an hour or so. Curiously, it has reopened with the top of the queueline fence covered in gaffer tape, the whole length, covering the spikes. They weren't there this morning

Mattresses on the floor next season, just in case someone trips.

At least we’ll be getting something for that increased renewal price.
