Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

Finally visiting the park today for the first time in 2024. Been a good few hours with not much of a wait for anything.

Was able to pick up my physical season pass nice and easy in the casino building. As it currently stands I'm getting most value out of that by visiting foreign parks.

Annoyingly Coasters and Lokis both shut so ended up in the burger king as I just wanted to sit down indoors and eat something.

My theory why its costing is £50 is for insurance, clearly they havan't paid for the years insurance for the ride with it being SBNO all year, so my guess is they have bought special insurance for this send off day to allow them to operate the ride one final time which would cost more then normal insurance, that is my reason for the extra costs. If I wasn't in the USA on the RCCGB trip then I would pay it and do it as one final time since it is a long standing old classic they are sending off. I'm also pleased they are doing this and giving people a last chance to ride. Also any money raised going to future investments for those who do want to pay can only be a good thing. You don't have to pay if you don't want to.

If they let you take the Grand Prix cars for a spin around the park, I'd be all for it. I don't really fancy paying £50 to sit in a rented supercar and having a picture with Chardonnay from Poulton-le-Fylde.
If it was Lambrusco from Accrington I’d be interested. Chardonnay ain’t worth it.

Just watched the You're Experience Guide vlog on the park, it's really concerning how quiet the park is, especially on what was a pretty decent day weather wise.

It's also sad to see the River Caves on such a shabby state. The whole exterior needs some TLC and a jet wash.

Tickets prices remain the same yet more & more rides closing or not operating.

It’s a disgrace the state of River Caves exterior. They should never have removed the dinosaurs & other theming that used to be there (see my avatar). Nobody seems to know why all that was removed.

This is one of my concerns, that the character of the place is being eroded bit by bit. North Park has never been the same since Wild Mouse has gone. The heart & soul of the place was ripped out when that happened. Does anyone know why River Caves is still shut?

I'm really worried about the future of this park, it just feels like it's on its last legs. SBNO rides, very short opening hours most weekends of the season, and hardly anyone in the park even on weekends. BPB is such a special park and I can't imagine the UK industry without it, but things really need to change and fast.

It kind of looks like death by a thousand cuts. There is a lack of long term planning which is baffling, I genuinely think the park thought some rides would just go on forever. Look at Revolution for example, an absolute staple of the park for many years and still a good ride but it's apparent it's on its last legs. You only have to look a t reliability and the absolute state of the frame which is looking very rusty.

It's looking bleak when several significant rides need replacing. The number of flat rides have been slowing diminishing which seems to have gone under the radar. The park clearly needs a large cash injection and leadership to make some radical changes.

I had a look through Pleasure Beach's TripAdvisor for April 24, and it struck me that so many people are complaining about the same thing; e-ticket scanning on the rides.

We all know that Pleasure Beach ignores enthusiasts, but I find it absolutely baffling that they also refuse to listen to feedback given to them by their core customer base.

Surely, there are people working in high-up positions at Pleasure Beach who have the role of identifying commonly complained about issues and acting on that feedback? When so many families are raising the same issue, Pleasure Beach must realise that this ridiculous system of scanning to get onto every ride is trashing the guest experience offered.

It's literally evidenced in these complaints to be costing the park a fortune in bad word-of-mouth and reducing the likelihood of return visits, yet they still don't take it onboard.

Do they even care?
