Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

Half the park is shut at the moment.
The whole of north park has five rides open in total for most of the day at the moment, I remember when there were more than a dozen.
And then there are the south park closures, and don't mention the dodgems, they simply vanished into thin air with no news whatsoever.
They need a new operating "partner", to boost investment, and help with management, now.

5 ? . I can only count 4 . I am assuming you are not including Valhalla as that is only opening for the last 3 hours.

Or are you counting impossible? Not sure i would class that as a ride so you are being generous with 5

Was in Blackpool earlier this week and was shocked at how quite it was. Lots of closed shops, bars and attractions etc. Blackpool has always been rough round the edges but it seems to be really struggling ATM which can't be helping PB

Midweek in early March is always going to be quiet.

You are probably missing W&G, technically north I think.

Nothing like beating an old tyke with a bit of coaster pedantry.

And following recent debate, the flying machines are running in a new cog, a bit like my lovely volvo, and will be flying back at full speed soon.

A section of railings around Gallopers has been cut out, and replaced with this temporary solution. The turnstile has been moved out of place:

I’d be surprised to see the ride go entirely, since some of the horses are named after the family. The organ too is beautiful. The building recently saw a repaint (albeit somewhat slapdash). It would be shame to see it go.

That said, the removal of that railing does suggest they need access for something substantial. The ride itself has seen better days and is looking frayed around a lot of its edges. If there’s a refurbishment in situ, the full removal of that railing probably isn’t required. Does that mean either a removal or a refurbishment off site?

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a relocation for the next season to be honest.

Somewhere like the old Trauma Towers site may be more prominent and better opportunity for more riders.

With the old site, it'd open up the area to widen the pathway towards the Big One, Steeplechase and Burger King as it seems quite tight around there with the Carousel in place.

It could be partly why the Carousel is closed.

The fountains are thought to be one reason why Trauma closed as it was affecting the facade. I can't imagine the frequent water drifting over would do much good for a 100+ year old carousel.

With this in mind...

A quick tally.
With River Caves temporarily SBNO there are now officially 30 rides in action - for comparison there were 50 operating in 2002. A sure sign of the times...

Looking at the location and comparing the footprints of both attractions, the Carousel is much smaller and may not have as many problems as Trauma Towers did, especially if it's located closer to Grand National.

From what has been said, it seems to be the building that was having issues.

I'd say if Impossible was located a few yards towards the fountains, I'd say this would've closed as well.
