My questions are whether this is allowed given that the Grand National is a listed building and whether Pleasure Beach can afford to do that work in the current climate.

Care to explain? I don't get it.

I was suggesting what sort of TLC the grand national needs!Explain?
So you want to demolish it? There would be uproar! (And Historic England would probably block it).I was suggesting what sort of TLC the grand national needs!

I have never hidden my feelings about Nash on this forum. It's a complete embarrassment to the park in its current state. So you want to demolish it? There would be uproar! (And Historic England would probably block it).
I do agree that something needs to be done but I don't think removing it is a good idea as it is one of the icons of Blackpool, I've heard lighter trains would help and possibly retracking some areas but I'm not sure if they would be allowed to do a fancy GCI/RMC or if Historic England would only allow a like for like replacement.I have never hidden my feelings about Nash on this forum. It's an awful, painful ride and I am surprised there haven't been more reports of people being injured. It really is that bad at the moment.
It's in dire need of major TLC or a major demolision, whichever it is something needs doing soon.
