I don't get the love for the Dipper? It's a bad coaster, with a bad layout and even worse trains. Do people like it just because it's old?

Yet on the middle two rows of the train it is currently a better coaster than the horrendously uncomfortable Nash (based on our last visit).

For me Big Dipper is iconic, more so than the Grand National. Everyone knows about the Big Dipper at Blackpool.

:)

I agree, but if I had to choose one to go/be modified, it would be the Dipper. At least the Nash almost has the racing element going for it, although that seems to be very train dependent now. I guess it's nostalgia, Nash was always my favourite coaster there as a slightly younger man.

It has decent drops and airtime. It's forceful (rough as some call it) and it is vintage.

Why does "vintage" automatically mean something is worthy of saving? For me, the first drop and hill are the only two bits worth riding for, the rest is just boring!

Whatever happens, Nash urgently needs some work. It was awful on our last visit, far worse than it has ever been before. Genuinely painful when riding with no sense of fun.

Very very few old coasters have survived, especially in the UK. The fact that it was built in 1923 and still operates is reason enough for it to continue to operate. End of.

Then BPB need to either accept that and market themselves as such, or forget it and move on. It's just some wood that has been bolted together. At this point, I doubt there's much original Dipper left.

Not sure if this has been noticed or not, but a new teaser image has been provided courtesy of the park:

Air Race written all over it :p

Does anybody know what the spiral tower was in the casino building
and what are your thoughts of my idea it becoming a helter skelter

Weren't it just a place where you could climb up and see the sights? To answer your second question, it would take quite a bit of work to make it a Helter Skelter and I don't think it would be worth it.

Well nine red BPB logos certainly matches with the nine aircraft in the Red Arrows. But why on Earth there is a plan of an F-18 in the middle is anyone's guess.

Such a shame. They could have got a Huss Jump 2. :(

Guess it's a Gerst Sky Fly!

Oh god. Like Air Meeting at Nigloland! People said it was a bit rubbish. I didn't bother riding...

The throughput...

Well at least it's unique in a sense and not a copy of Drayton's most recent addition. Not to mention it'll be far less of an eyesore than Bling ever was.
