There are some very nice parts to Blackpool, I would happily live on any of the roads around Stanley park, but the mass of very cheap housing behind the prom and in certain pockets of the town are in urgent need of slum clearance, but the council can't afford to do so.
Hop a mile or two south to St Annes, and disposable income trebles. There are massive economic divisions in the area, and there always has been.
