I've not ridden it since they added the extra theming, before they did that it lost marks for how poor the lifts and the top level looked. What about River Quest‽
Same; I've only ridden Valhalla. Would love to ride the others one day, though!Even I would agree with that and I have only seen POV's of Phantasialands water rides.
Chiapas closed on Saturday 2 Sept due to one of liftchains on the second lifthill breaking. It reopened last Friday, apparently there was a delay with the delivery of a new chain.Unsure if it has re-opened yet but as of last week Chiapas had been down for two or three weeks!
This raises another important point about the awards that was touched upon in the other thread. People rate them using different metrics and criteria. @PeteA used Tatsu as an example.Chiapas being delayed for an entire year and a few other issues it's had have probably counted against it...
I forgive the ride for its flaws because the concept behind it was so ambitious, and Blackpool actually pulled it off.
It wouldn't surprise me if the ride is replaced in the next few years.
What would they replace it with, though? An indoor spinning or powered coaster, perhaps?Totally agree with that. I cannot comment on the other water rides mentioned as I haven't ridden them but Valhalla is a fantastic ride if you are lucky enough to get most of the effects working.
Sadly it rarely has most effects working these days and it is overly wet for a ride based on the Lancahire coast.
It wouldn't surprise me if the ride is replaced in the next few years.

Indoor coaster, maybe a water coaster seeing as they already have water there. What would they replace it with, though? An indoor spinning or powered coaster, perhaps?
