Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion

Not too fussed about Tigris, though I'm sure it will be a fun ride.

RMC Gwazi though? About time! I do think that once it opens BGT will have one of the best coaster lineups in the world, if they didn't already.
 
According to Wild Gravity Travels these will be the major investments for SEAS in 2020:

-RMC Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa

-55mph launch coaster at SeaWorld Orlando

-100ft GCI wooden coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio

-Launched coaster 70mph+ at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

How do they know that info already? Also, I thought SEAS only did 3 major CAPEX investments each year? Or has that changed since the CAPEX was increased?
 
I personally reckon it could be something akin to Manta at SeaWorld San Diego or Juvelen at Djurs Sommerland! One thing that SWO's coaster lineup currently lacks is a mid-ground family coaster that has a properly substantial coaster section, if you get what I mean. While Journey to Atlantis would technically fit the bill, I don't personally think that the coaster section is particularly substantial.

Yesterday was the opening night of Howl-O-Scream. In terms of the two new houses, Simon's Slaughterhouse seems to have had mixed to positive reviews whilst Insomnia has gone down very well with great reviews.
 
Tigris is a disappointing announcement if I am honest - RMC Gwazi is not though. I've ridden Tempesto (Busch Gardens Williamsburg) and Sky Scream (Holiday Park) and to be honest with you they are OK rides but nothing special. I feel Sky Scream is the better of the two - just down to the theming and the restraint system is better. The Williamsburg one (and Tigris) have the over the shoulder 'flappy strapies' as I call them. Makes loading more of a faff and are a pain in the butt to get into the seat with them and they're uncomfortable.

So yeah...roll on 2020!
 
Busch Gardens Tampa has announced the park's 60th anniversary celebration for 2019.

The event will run all year from January 1st-December 31st 2019.

Features include:

-Commerative activities and special 60th anniversary offers & merchandise.

-The return of two free beers for all park guests of drinking age every single day.

-The opening of the new Tigris rollercoaster in Spring, with exclusive ride time for annual passholders.

-More special events than ever before in the park's history including Real Music Real Masters, Busch Gardens Food & Wine, Run for the Fund, Sesame kids weekends, Summer Nights, Bier Fest, July 4th Celebration, Conservation Connections, Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town.

Whatever people think of the ride and its throughput, it's going to look fantastic in this area next to SheiKra.

Also, the park have just posted their opening hours through the end of August. Very happy that they are still investing in long opening hours, off peak days close at 6pm whereas most weekends and peak times are either a 9pm or 10pm close. 4th of July is 11pm again :)

Christmas Town kicks off on Saturday November 17th, Rudolph features again this year! New for this year the event runs on off peak days as well (so every single day November 17th-December 31st). Peak days are 10pm close, off peak are 7pm close, New Year's Eve is a 1am close.

Apparently they were adding an extra train to Cheetah Hunt on Saturday evening and the transfer track refused to move back afterwards. Two days later and it's still stuck appatently :p.

You've got to love Intamin!
