Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion

Sorry to bump the thread, but we have a new rumour from First Drop Magazine regarding RMC Gwazi. And it sounds absolutely obscene! Here's what First Drop have apparently said:
I certainly did not expect this! If this is true, RMC Gwazi could be not only one of the best coasters in Florida, but also in the world!First Drop Magazine said:"The new Gwazi will make some major modifications to the duelling coasters. The first of which is to remove its duelling element. A new steel structure lift hill will give the coaster a 65m (212ft) 91degree first drop. Making it the tallest and steepest RMC hybrid coaster as well as the tallest coaster in florida. The original lift hills will remain and feature as "normal" hills on the new track"

They tend to get given exclusive insights and concepts first over anyone else in the magazine, so it wouldn't surprise me if it were true.
Hopefully the removal of the duelling element means they're combining both layouts into one, ala Twisted Colossos.

I have no reason to doubt the ECC so this sounds very promising indeed; but since when were Busch Gardens in competition with Cedar Point!?
With RMC Gwazi and an thrill Intamin launch at IOA, Florida is finally set to get some coasters that could be amongst the best in the world.

Off to Busch Gardens for the first time in May..do we think Tigris will be open by then? I thought it wasn't going to be open until the Summer but it looks like construction is coming along very nicely, would definitely be a bonus if it is open by then! Very much looking forward to getting on all of the other coasters here too. It has been a bucket list park for years now!

They will want it open in advance of memorial day weekend at the end of May, so you have a very good chance.Off to Busch Gardens for the first time in May..do we think Tigris will be open by then? Heard some people say they're shooting for a March opening, although I'm a bit skeptical of that myself.

Looking at the progess on Tigris I would say a March opening is easily achievable. Track work appears to be nearing completion and it's not as if it will be extensively themed. Testing shouldn't be problematic at all. Maybe late-March/early-April soft openings ahead of a later official opening?

Electric Eel had its track completed on Jan 15th (earlier than Tigris) and didn't open to the public until mid May.
