Well it looks like the future of Riverbank Eye Spy is set to be In the Night Garden. Goes with the image the CBeebies Land Facebook page released this morning

I will still aways call it Riverbank!
It will be interesting to see how they do create a "journey through real woodland Night Garden". I hope it is more than a few characters dotted around the place and the odd peice of theming. Especially as it is being called a magical boat ride, I really hope that they can make it seem magical.

To be honest, that's pretty much exactly what I'm expecting this one to be
However, it should be a big improvement not having the Dung Heap out the back, spoiling the ride. If the Sensory Garden or allotment is going there it should help to make it feel more natural, like the ride used to be before the play area arrived.

The Alton Towers website gives this description for the ride:
And the following small image:
Hopefully a bigger version will be revealed later today.

Alton Towers said:The In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride drifts you and your child into the enchanted dreamworld. From on board the colourful boat enjoy special family moments as you discover Iggle Piggle, Makka Pakka and Upsy Daisy on the Night Garden island. Watch and listen to the sights and sounds of a picture book that has come alive.

This is painful, I see they keep using terms like 'Special family moments' to disguise the fact that it's going to be boring. I'm really quite annoyed as Alton could have really gone to town with this, They are in desperate need of more indoor attractions, especially so they can appeal to winter hotel guests. This IP is an amazing opportunity to pull something really big out of the bag and all they are doing is tarting up the stuff thats already there. Plopsalands Mayaland is a perfect example of what alton should have been looking to achieve.

So am I allowed to start tearing these awful photoshop efforts apart yet?
This whole area is looking like a no go zone for me at the moment. Yes, I know it's early days etc but it looks like a quaint farmyard / storybook theme is being replaced with garish colours and nods towards irritating childrens tv personalitys.

Like always we must wait until it's finished before final judgment but so far it all looks rather lazy and playing it safe.
What they need to do is build a children's dark ride on the ice rink site or at the very least construct something to house highly themed indoor attractions like in the picture above.
I'm sure it will be at least moderately well themed - but this is Alton Towers and they should be aiming for excellence not something that is second rate and not even up to the standard that other parks were producing five years ago (Thomas Land etc).

Ahhhhh, Spot the Dog would have been amazing! Along with The Shoe People, The Raggydolls, Bertha...
A whole area themed around late 80s/early 90s children's tv

I'd have love a Spot the dog attraction! Shame he's not really popular these days, but I did love him when I was little =)
That said, at least the known attractions so far look pretty good. I'm sure this will go down well with the target audience =)

To be fair, the title is pretty misleading. "Night Garden" insinuates that it's a garden, at night; but actually it seems to be a magical garden in the daytime that you visit during sleeping hours (the night). At least that's my understanding of it from theepisode I've been watching tonight purely textual research I've been doing.

Just bung a fibreglass spot the dog in the middle of any current attraction and you pretty much have the same as whats in cbeebies land.
Anyone for Spot The Dog: sub Terror?

Spot the dog has buried his bone and can't find it can you help spot* dig down and retrieve his bone before it's lost in the underground caverns forever. Enjoy special family moments as you look for Spots bone and return it safely to his food bowl.
*Please not spot the dog will be a replica model from the popular TV series.
