Cedar Point: General Discussion

The tilt track got installed today, plus they've put in some track towards the end of the layout.

Says it'll take 4 weeks to install the hydraulics etc into the tower. You'd hope by that time they'll have all the track in place, then they can quickly move into the testing phase.

Will be visiting the park in June, not expecting to ride it at the moment. But I'm more positive than I was when they broke ground.

Cedar Point are usually pretty good at trying to get things for the start of their season, which is at the beginning of May. Might be slightly different here, as clearly it's a relatively last minute project, but so long as the weather stays on their side I can't see it taking too long to get the rest of the track up.

The bigger questions is will TT2 be ready for this season, and if so when? You'd think they might want to stagger the opening of these, seeing as they're both effectively new.

At the Ace event the other week Tony Clark (Cedar Points PR guy) said they were aiming to have TT2 open on opening day. Trains back from Zamperla soon, and then testing begins.

My vague hope for Sirens Curse is they'll want it open for Coaster Mania and I'm going a few days after that.

I can't remember where I saw it but I'm sure the park have said they expect it to be commissioning at the start of season and open shortly after, so possibly some time in June?
