If theme parks were Pink Floyd albums, Alton Towers would be Wish You Were Here and Cedar Point would be the Wall.
See, Alton Towers is made up of a few really solid coasters that have no real weaknesses. It's stand out coaster is Nemesis, like the song Wish You Were Here, which is only marginally better than the rest. And although it's not quite as good as the Dark Side of the Moon quality such as Disney World or Europa Park, it's pretty universally acclaimed as being a very good theme park, although not being as famous as some of the other theme parks.
Cedar Point on the other hand is pretty much all filler with one stand-out coaster. You've got Maverick, which is the Comfortably Numb of the theme park world, and then the rest are just boring. The over-rated Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum and Millennium Force are the the Another Brick's in the Wall of the park, being the most popular, but actually really pretty uninteresting. And, although with casual fans of theme parks it's liked, the more knowledgable about theme parks you get, the more you realise it's mainly just filler.
