Holes were cheaper back then
Took a punt and visited Chessington late on Saturday. Got there around 5pm and it felt like there were more staff there than guests. A lot of the rides closed temporarily just after we got there, but slowly started opening again after a little while and we went down to Mandril Mayhem just after it re-opened and were around 10 seconds away from being the only 4 people on the ride - unfortunately a few more people turned up just before we were about to leave the station. We did however, get three rides in a row - no-one else turned up at the ride for a while so everyone just stayed on.
We also watched the show and there were so few people watching that we came away with so many little bags of Haribo that they usually throw into the crowd - doesn't take much to keep me happy and 20 mini bags of Haribo will do it
.
We weren't there long, maybe 90 minutes but it felt like a bit of a winner of a visit - just a shame so few rides are open for Christmas as we could have done multiples on lots of them.
On thing to note, Gruffalo is in a bit of a sorry state at the moment. The queue line is a mess (there was what looked like a dropped hot chocolate that had clearly been there a while when we walked through), the whole thing needs re-painting, cobwebs everywhere, animatronics/character movements weren't working, no smoke where the snake is, no smells, Gruffalo's eye's not lit up (which looks freaky), and we have noticed the last few times that some lights have been turned on at the lift hill part so you can see all the cables, control boxes, bits of rubbish that have been left there and foliage that is coming through the building. It needs a tart up over the winter, but I would imagine we will see the same cobwebs come next season.

I noticed a lot of this on our last visit, quite a few of the screens weren't working so you just sailed into a dark room which was a bit sad.
Regarding the Xmas offering. We’re thinking of taking the boy Friday - RAP is sold out (wouldn’t be needed. Just for Santa and the shows etc) -‘can’t find any info around accessible access to the village? He wouldn’t cope with the 45-60 min waits to enter .
Would seem odd to restrict to RAP only (or even stranger to have 0 accessible queue)

Might have been useful to include a link to the reply, or a screenshot of it, so that others could see. Especially if @Alphe86 hadn't asked the question you're referring to.You might have posted this on Twitter or someone with similar enquiry. Buzz have replied

Where has Guest Services moved to?![]()
I think it’s near the stage in the old Toytown area these days.

A shrewd move by Merlin to close all Guest Services for 2025.
