I can confirm this will not be happening.Well, I’m not sure about divorces, but I imagine they’ll likely be a baby boom around late December / early January...

I wonder what they would call the generation born due to the covid crisis?Apparently there have been condom shortages so a baby boom is entirely possible!!!

The wedding backlog is going to be interesting. One of my friends got married a week before lockdown, which was insanely lucky. Anouther had their wedding booked for June. They've had to re-book and couldn't get anouther slot until July 2021!
Funnily enough I was asked if I'd be getting married and I joked back "not for at least 2 years"

I really feel for ya, mate. I was due to be going to a wedding in May, but that's been postponed to May 2021. Was also due to be attending another wedding in September, but I've got no idea whatsoever if that's going ahead as scheduled. Holiday in mid-August with my boyfriend's up in the air, though that's still a remote possibility. I'm still planning on going to EP for NYE if things get back to something resembling normality by then, but that's too far away to realistically think about at the moment. Even though I've already got it booked off work!I'm booked to be married in October, with a honeymoon following on.
Honestly there's no point panicking though because it's not in my control should it get cancelled.

I literally had my birthday on the 19th March, my tattoo on the 21st, and then was meant to be going to Thorpe Park on the 28th and 29th but of course that didn't happen. We got Thorpe season passes so have just had to cancel our AirBNB but I truly feel so sorry for people who have stuff booked over the next few weeks/months

I had my wedding booked for mid May this year followed by a honeymoon to Shanghai, Hong Kong & Japan. Wedding venue and suppliers have all moved me to May 2021 with no issue so only real impact is individual items, gifts and stationary that have our original date on
Not sure where we are going for our honeymoon yet. Still battling with some companies for refunds!

I'm sure you'll be fine by October. If we are still in lockdown then we really are in trouble!I'm booked to be married in October, with a honeymoon following on.

Weddings aren't really mass gatherings as most people will have less than 100 people attending, most of which will have close connections anyway. The one I was at just before lockdown was fairly normal except for having to wash our hands between every stage of the day. I suspect once the lockdown ends weddings will start again shortly after. The only problem is having chance to organise them.
Interesting. China has increased its death toll on Wuhan today by 50%. That's quite a leap. Either they have found dead bodies locked in buildings that have just reopened or they are starting to realise their fake numbers are looking too obvious!
France has now also joined the growing list of countries wanting an investigation into their handling of this virus.

Meanwhile Captain Tom's fundraiser has now passed the £18 million mark!

I don't think China was ever faking the numbers; as they say in the article, when the hospitals were overwhelmed, it was hard to keep on top of logging cases.
As for Captain Tom; what a remarkable man! The fact that he only ever wanted £1,000 and has raised £18,000,000 is nothing short of fantastic!

This is super cynical. I think Captain Tom is fantastic and he has done an amazing job of raising money.
BUT once it got over several million its the media and his relatives that are more responsible for getting the huge sums. If they hadn't pushed it onto the news all day for the last few days it would never have got over a couple of million.
I still think he has done a remarkable thing, but it was a whole load of people that have caused it to be huge sums.
