It's weirdly fascinating to see how quickly animals are adapting to these changes.
Or being forced to un-adapt. Many animals have adapted away from natural behaviour and now rely on finding human food waste instead of hunting as they would have done.

You can pinpoint the exact moment the health secretary can't find excuse so just lies and moves on.

Now which Korea is it that has a policy of not questioning the government? There's a worryingly high trend of people saying that the media shouldn't be criticising the government.
In which case why even have a media if we cannot question those who are failing us?

I think what people are sick of, whether Covid or government related or in other areas, is relentless criticism based purely on the benefit of hindsight.
It's lazy journalism, it's tedious, and it plays to stupidity. It has no benefit and it's not what anyone needs.

If you want right wing BBC content just watch Question Time.
The problem is that people say "now is not the time to be critical." Right now we're in the midst of a pandemic where lives of not only the sick but those treating are on the line and yet we're lacking numbers of necessary PPE? It's like with the Grenfell tragedy where people said we shouldn't criticise the government failings because it was "too soon for the victims".
Criticism should be thrown at those deserving of it until they concede they messed up or do something about it.

There have clearly been some mistakes made, especially early on, but I do have some sympathy with the government when it comes to PPE. This is a global pandemic and nearly every country in the world is currently trying to get hold of a finite resource. Demand is clearly exceeding supply, and I would imagine other countries are in the same position that we are only it does not get reported in our news.
Maybe it is not an excuse but you'll have private companies around the world who are likely encouraging bidding wars between different countries and profiting massively from this huge worldwide demand.
I could be wrong but it is worth considering. And by no means do I think our government have done the best they can when it comes to PPE.

No I'm am sorry. I have no sympathy for the government when it comes to PPE. Plenty of British companies have offered to make PPE but the government have refused because it needs to be 'medical grade'.
WTF?! So in a time of crysis, a national crysis never before seen on this scale, when there are shortages of everything. The government would rather the NHS workers have NO protection. Rather than some basic protection from PPE, that may not be medical grade. There is no reasonable excuse as to why they could not use the non medical grade PPE in certain situations, while they wait for the medical grade stuff to arrive. So that our NHS atleast has some form of protection.
Beggars can't be chosers and in a time of crysis we need to take what we can get. It makes me so angry the government have chosen to not protect some NHS workers at all. Rather than getting some basic protetion for them. Because it has to be 'medical grade'.
This sooner this government go. The better. They were wholly incompetent before. This crysis has just put their incompetence onto a pedastal for everyone to clearly see.

Agreed. I'm so angry about the £60,000 they're going to give to the bereaved families of medical staff who've died of Covid-19. People want action, not a reaction - spend that money on providing PPE to frontline staff to prevent these deaths.

I would imagine there is an issue that if a medical died as the equipment they were given was substandard then there is clear liability still. Yes there shouldn't be a situaltion of people working without PPE, but a false sense of security can make things worse. If you know you aren't safe you don't take any risks. Also non-medical grade can put the sick people at more risk meaning everyone is at greater risk.
If a building site said we are all out of hard hats but this saucepan still covers your head would you take it? But if the building site said we have a bicycle helmet and that works just as well, you would think its safe and only find out it isn't as good when it is too late.

I get that to an extent. But there are people working on the frontline with no PPE. People that are not in a false sense of security because they know where they are and the risk. But they have to carry out their duties. These people could still use non medical grade equipment. To help. After all, with or without the equipment they are still doing the same duties.
You are totally right too. It is a liability. But surely having the people actually ya know, DIE! Is a bigger liability and that is what has been happening.
