Disneyland Paris 2014: 'Ratatouille' dark ride

General Resort News - (6/6/13) Disney and More has posted an interesting rumor about Big Thunder Mountain that you don’t want to miss. According to the report the attraction which is currently closed for rehab until June 14th, park management was looking into a possible plan to remove the faux “locomotive” car at the front of the trains, replacing it with another regular rider add, increasing the capacity of each train by 6 riders. Unfortunately the downside of this would be that they would end up putting one less train on the tracks each day, and end up keeping capacity at about the same level with one less train. The good news is that they are rumored to have opted not to do this… for now.

Madness! The highest throughput coaster in the world and they considered increasing it?! Though the original article speculates that it's because they wanted to keep the same throughput whilst dropping a train. Anyway, I don't see why they can't just make some modifications and add an extra car without removing the locomotive. :)

Original article here. :)

After 21 years it seems a bit of an odd time to start tinkering around with it now, but there you go. :)

I'm with Diogo and sam, I'm someone who is studying 3D art and animation and know the amount of effort gone into those videos, and love admiring pixars work, but I don't want videos on a dark ride, I want physical theming and I've always thought Disney would be able to provide that.

Disney and More have another Ratatouille update here (scroll down). The facades are really coming along now. :)

Photos Magiques have a new photo update of Ratatouille's. Here are a couple of them:

Taking their sweet time on those facias, hope the inside is coming along faster! Saying that they are starting to look very fine!

I just got back from Disneyland a couple of days ago and managed to get these photos of the construction from ground level. Taken on the 30th August:

I'm considering doing a full trip report but couldn't wait to post these pictures while they are still fresh :)

WOW!

Well, if what most makes you run is a sublime dessert … or the sight of a small rat, then do not miss the “Chef ‘s” surprise. Here is your first, exclusive look to the new attraction “Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy”, that will open its doors at the Walt Disney Studios Park in 2014! This world-first adventure uses state-of-the-art technologies that will reduce you to the size of a little rat … Plunge into the heart of a particularly excited Parisian kitchen !

Trying not to mention the appalling grammar and formatting of that text this is absolutely thrilling! If this is an indication of how the ride will be, it looks spectacular! :D

I was hoping for a mad dash around the kitchen, so this is super!

It looks great, apart from the god awful ride cars! I pray that's not the final design for them but it looks like it is!

:)

I can't get excited over a CG concept art that is clearly impossible in real life. It gives no indication of what the actual ride will look like, other than the cars will look like cheap wild mouse cars.

This ride car shouldn't really be a surprise to people :p Will have to see what it looks like in person or compared to people in photos before judging it.

Oh, I'm sure the actual ride will be pretty good. But the concept art above is pretty pointless.

It never ceases to amaze me how detailed Disney make their projects, despite the fact it takes them so long to actually do anything!
