Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

If the park hadn't been the absolute disaster it became as it opened maybe rides that were meant to be built (Indiana Jones & Fantasyland dark rides) would have happened. Granted those would've been clones more than likely.
Plus adding on the fact that the Studios need the investment more urgently because it is/was awful.
However the park is by far the best designed Magic Kingdom park out of the 3 I've done. Especially compared to Disneyland.

Isn't DLP just the poor man's edition of the Disney theme park concept full stop?
DLP main park is better than Magic Kingdom for me. Their version of Pirates, BTM, Space Mountain are all superior and I prefer PM to Haunted Mansion too. However Disney World as a whole is obviously in a different league as there are many more parks.

I think the elements of the park that where there on opening beat WDW magic kingdom. It’s certainly got a better Main Street and Hub and the attractions you mention are superior. But when you factor in the attractions WDW have extra just in the magic kingdom (splash mountain, mine train, carousel of progress, little mermaid, Winnie the Pooh etc) then for me I prefer WDW’s park.

I was saying this to someone the other day, Disneyland Park hasn't had a brand new attraction in over 10 years, I get that they're trying to expand Walt Disney Studios and all of the new attractions have been built there, but it's about time Disneyland Park got a big new attraction, something along the lines of the new Beauty and the Beast attraction at Tokyo Disneyland.
As for Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park, I prefer Disneyland Park on the whole but Magic Kingdom has received a lot more attention and updates.

It's all about opinions. I have been the Magic Kingdom on 3 separate years and never had a good day there. Always find it too hectic.

Rumour has it that DLP could've had a Beauty and the Beast ride instead of Ratatouille, but somewhat understandably that was chosen because of the Studios revamp.
Finishing off the main park would be something though, given the length of time Disney take with projects. Not like there's no space for things either, could easily add in things like Splash Mountain, Indy dark ride and a Fantasyland dark ride with minimal redevelopment in areas.

I am sure i've read that they could possibly add the new Micky and Minnies Runaway Train ride from Hollywood Studios but Id actually prefer Beauty and The Beast or even Winnie the Pooh. Remember they are both ips that are linked to Europe.Rumour has it that DLP could've had a Beauty and the Beast ride instead of Ratatouille, but somewhat understandably that was chosen because of the Studios revamp.

Im a bit dissapointed with the Frozen land TBH for WDS. I have a feeling the studios revamp has been scaled back. A mini Basically the studios park is getting 3 new rides? I would only call starwars e-ticket?

Even Star Wars will only be Smugglers Run so probably more a D-Ticket in that sense.
That said in terms of "thrill" rides the Studios do already have ToT and RnRC, and Disney have never been ones to fill their parks with ride upon ride. As mentioned it must be a new idea they're trying with areas centred around one ride and shops/food/characters around that. Even Avengers land at California is only adding in the Spiderman ride (that the Studios is also getting).

Has this been confirmed? From what I had read based on the plans it was felt it would more like be Rise, especially because of the challenge of having so many languages spoken at DLP. Smugglers Run relies on everyone understanding what they need to do and when in order to work as an attraction.

I thought they had looked at the show building size and they thought it was more rise that would be put in. Otherwise I have a feeling visitors will just think that it's all b rate rides in Paris.

I would agree, the foundations of the park are excellent, but undeniably, its development has been stagnant in comparison to every other Magic Kingdom park in the world.
This is largely the problem with the Magic Kingdom in Paris. It's actually a beautiful park with some great attractions but it lacks attractions full stop. If it had the missing attractions that the other MK parks had, I think it could easily be the best Disney Park out there (or at least the best MK).
I do totally get as to why Disney want to sort out the Studios park first as it is a bit of a mess, but next door has been neglected for too long.

I don't care if it's not got as many rides as MK.....I still prefer it. A lot of people do. I prefer Disneyworld overall though obviously. Who wouldn't.
Been to MK in 96, 2004 & 2013 and never had a good experience. It's been okay at best. Always too busy and hectic. I find DLP far more enjoyable and relaxing and prefer their versions of the stand out rides by far.

Disney are already adding Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway to Disneyland California and there are strong rumours that Paris will get it after California.
The expectation is that it will go into Fantasyland to the right of Its a Small World.
and the best of the Magic Kingdom parks for the range of attractions is California in my opinion (although I haven't been to Tokyo or the other Asian parks yet)

DLP has now announced that it will begin a phased reopening very soon, with Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and Disney Village reopening from 15th July: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/travel/travel-news/disneyland-paris-announces-start-phased-22233564

With no shows, night time fireworks, parades, limited non contact meet and greets and a whole host of other things they have to implement to reopen. I get that they have no choice but that's not the Disney experience is it?
You'd have to be mental to pay those prices for less than half the experience.

So Disneyland Paris reopened this week. Alongside the little opening ceremony with Natacha Rafalski there’s also a little show making use of the castle fountains.
Lovely touch. I was quite impressed that they penned a whole song for the reopening... Then discovered they’ve actually just taken a song from Tokyo Disneyland’s 2015 springtime parade and changed the lyrics

The song was used for Disneyland Paris's Swing into Spring event as well. I've noticed Disneyland have re purposed a few songs over the years. I mean why not if they were never going to be heard again!
