Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

I wonder what the parameters of the third park are? Could they build an indoor water park? Or would that clash with the Center Parcs affiliation?
I do think an indoor water park would be a good expansion, although I guess would need to be quite big to cope with demand, but then Europa have made it work.

I thought Disney had moved away from the Villages Nature development, they sold their stake in 2022 so it is wholley owned by Center Parcs, so I guess would depend what the agreement is with Center Parcs. I suppose the Villages Nature aqualagoon is for their guests only, so Disney could add something for guests of their own hotels.

I would love to see a tron style ride themed to starwars, if it means they retheme space mountain back to the origional theming and then make a new area with star tours just for starwars land (either behind the current tomorrow land, or in another area)
I believe the rumours are a bike speeder through woods which was also speculated for Hollywood Studios in Florida. I don't think it will be necessarily a star wars land like the American ones but more a mini land. Someone said the idea could be you enter by going on star tours and exit into the mini land as it's a journey to the other planet as the new ride would be behind star tours.

A bike speeder through the forests of Endor would fit that description nicely.

Funny graph from @Statismic! on Twitter (original here) showing the number of days since the last new ride opened at each Disney park

Admittedly all their effort has been in trying to sort out WDS which has seen the new attractions. Had it not been for that park being such a disaster needing major investment then Disney Disneyland Park would have undoubtedly seen something new by now.

Eurostar tickets are finally on sale for our trip so i have a few questions hopefully someone can answer!

If we are leaving the park at 428pm from the Disneyland Station, can we literally arrive a few minutes before as it's a domestic service? Or is there more of a check-in required? Obviously wouldn't roll up at 426pm but hoping to maximise our second day.

Also is the luggage storage likely to have a substantial queue? Would leaving the park at 4pm be realistic or cutting it fine?

Nearly 19 years (and counting!) for Disneyland Park. Wow, just wow.
And that was to replace timekeepers! Not even an addition!

Your be going through customs at your change station... My advice would always arrive 45 minutes prior.

If it's still under an Eurostar booking (via Lille presumably?) then will still go through all the usual odds and ends so will be getting there early.

Luggage storage again depends where you're dropping it off.

Surely the security and passport aspect is at the change in Lille? There’s a 90 minute changeover there. It’s a regular domestic service operated by SNCF on the first leg but do they still do baggage checks then?

Eurostar no longer run their trains to Disneyland itself.

Luggage would be at the entrance storage that somebody previously mentioned.

Google Maps says it’s a 9 min walk from Space Mountain to the station!

Oh yeah I've done that stop number of times (and it was always bloody freezing).

Yeah all passport/security stuff is done at Disney station. Unless they've added the infrastructure to Lille but you're basically stood there for 90 minutes waitinb. It's why the last few times I've got the train via Paris Gare du Nord instead.

There seems to be confusion here folks, there is NO passport control at Disneyland (Marne-La-Vallee Chessy) station now that the direct Eurostar is no more.

You will board a TGV train to Lille which is a standard domestic train like any other which you can turn up circa 10mins in advance and board.

Edit: the exception to this is if you are booked on a TGV ‘OUIGO’ service which is the low cost arm of the business. For these trains you would need to be arriving 30mins before departure.

All passport checks are done at Lille before boarding the Eurostar.

That is correct... Eurostar pulled out last year. Hopefully they will loose the monopoly soon... Prices are so much higher and they have reduced the number of services yet it's busier.

and are claming that their depot (the only one on HS1) is over capacity so there can't be any competition.

Yet have less services running and screwed over us that live in Kent and Sussex by mothballing the stations so we have to go back up the line (and pay extra) to then go past our homes again. Fingers crossed Virgin and the Spanish operator get in and destroy them.

Slightly confused too as domestic services on southeastern have a depot in Ashford?

Although a part of the issue is Brexit related and the additional passport stamp & visa checks needed now.

I’ve never really bought that excuse, the on the ground infrastructure is almost identical and all the other stations have implemented so there’s no reason I can think of that they couldn’t have done the same. As ever I expect the economics are the real cause.

I thought when leaving Marne-le-Vallee some of the passport checks were still done on the train?

I think it is both really, it was only one or two direct services a day so the economics weren't great, both of running the service and upgrading immigration check facilities due to the new requirements.

It's a bit more complicated than that... Alot boils down to the french government are pissed we didn't pay the french government during COVID as our government had previously sold it's shares.

I think that's partly why Ashford and Ebbsfleet area shut even though st pan is bursting.

Has anyone been to the Center Parcs close by? I did ask last year and there were some negative comments about the accommodation but i just saw they do day passes so i was thinking we could use the swimming pool as we arrive approximately 4pm (our flat is midway between DIsneyland and Center Parcs). It's half price after 4pm anyway so doesn't matter in that sense.

I assume the Disneyland hotel pools are all for guests only and don't do day passes? Plus i think going to the park and not going in might be confusing.
