I don't understand why every theme park this year has decided to open everything in the summer? Its really annoying if you specifically go to a theme park to experience a new attraction and it isn't open! I have to say this does look a good investment, right up Drayton's street, although they should have splashed out a little on the 8 arm version.

I think some of the reason for not pushing for March opening is the winter weather issues, I imagine construction is much easier in the Spring.

I don't understand why UK builders have such problems with winter weather. Are they all incompetent?
In most cases it's not due to the weather but is generally to do with Marketing- parks seem to get as good if not better performance from launching a ride in late spring/early summer than opening it at the start of the season and while Easter is a busy time, launching the ride just before the busier summer period seems to more effective.
The other factor is when a park orders a new ride, smaller parks like Drayton seem to be waiting until end of the season before green lighting a new ride for the following season, resulting in not enough time to get the ride ready for Easter.
plus if a construction project is going to close an area or old ride it depends on time scale they need to remove the old area/ride and construct the new one, if going to take more than 6-7 months then it's Better ln many cases for the park to keep the old ride/area open during the July and August and then shut in sept and open it latter the following season then having it shut over the busy summer season and open it in time for Easter.

I'm fairly sure that someone from the forum team will be on this soon but i am going to say this here. Please take this discussion to PM as it has nothing to do with Drayton Manor but a disagreement between individuals.
I imagine a lot of these post will be removed in the near future.
