Ah, I had the super fun steps on the breakrun, kinda unpleasant actually. There is a platform with steps about 3ft high, they place that under the craft and release the leg harness so your standing on the platform but your body is still in the main harness (so you are upside down L shaped), then a host braces against the restraints whilst it is unlocked and they slowly release the restraint as you walk down the steps and you end up upright.
It’s very weird, they only do that if the ride gets stuck in the station as they can’t lower the craft if it’s locked into the lifting mechanism. Everywhere else they lower the craft.
Yeah, you don't need to worry about that. All in all I think we were stuck for 20-30 minutes ish! Had to really concentrate on my breathing to try and NOT focus on my friend saying "Oh, if the engineer pressed the wrong button we'll fall and die" ...cheers Anna!
That's the general public for you.Had to really concentrate on my breathing to try and NOT focus on my friend saying "Oh, if the engineer pressed the wrong button we'll fall and die" ...cheers Anna!
There's really no need to worry as the harnesses can't be released outside of the station.Galactica, Alton Towers -

Wow, you must visit often! I have still never been evacuated from a roller coaster, but I was stopped on Icon's second launch for maybe 10 minutes. We were then treated to a launch from zero which was quite a bit more thrilling than normal!Let's see if I can remember all these!
WDW Hollywood Studio's Tower Of Terror:
Lift got to the top and didn't drop, we ended up being moved backwards away from the drop and taken down in a standard lift. We were put back on shortly after.
Port Aventura Dragon Khan:
Not the most exciting, the ride came into the brakes and refused to move into the station so we were released onto the brake run.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Valhalla: I have been evacuated from the first turn table, the shield on the side of the boat became stuck in the rail at the side of the track and couldn't be pushed backwards. The walk off the ride was great, being so high up and seeing the drop through the mesh floor was great. The geek in me also enjoyed seeing the Nationals first drop so close (it was in 2000) and I hadn't been round there before.
Wild Mouse: Not technically an evacuation but we'll worth a mention! The ride stopped just before the S bends, I ended up being pushed round, only to stop again and require another shove.
Log Flume: Ride stopped on the final lift hill, got evacuated via a walkway at the side of the track and allowed up the catwalk between the final drop and ramp away from the station.
Revolution: On two occasions I have been taken off the ride at the far side.
RollerCoaster: For reasons that remain unknown the ride stopped about 30ft up the lift. I was escorted down the lift. The ride reopened minutes later.
Big One: I have been stopped on the lift and MCBR plenty of times, but have only had an evacuation from the final brakes.
Steeplechase: One lift evacuation from the first lift, also as with the Mouse, the wind slowed the horse down to a stop between the final lift and the brakes. I was eventually dragged back round via a rope. I don't know who was laughing more, me, the staff or Mr Bickerton.
Bling: The ride refused to stop at the end of the ride and free spun until it lost momentum.....then the floor didn't come up lol. Again much to the amusement of Scott!
I also only have one, and a minor one at that. I got evac'd from the lift hill of the Wild River Rapids (travelling rapids ride that is now at Fantasy Island in Skeggy) at Lightwater Valley in 2019.Apologies if this is already a thread, I did dip back into the annals to check but only so far.
Do people keep count of their evac creds? If so, how many do you have? Anyone got any particularly scary/exciting/fun ones to share?
I just have the one Evac Cred, from Oblivion at 2021 Fireworks. Only from the brake run mind, so it wasn't terribly dramatic!
I did witness a manual evac from the top of Swarm's lift hill in its opening year, glad I wasn't involved in that one tbh!
