I think it was a rumour, someone pulled £400.00 out of their backsides and the convo went nuts. :)

Just checked and a weekend stay in early July for the Moon Room is coming out at £225.00, The Smilier room for the same day is £337.00.

Don't get me wrong I do love the look of the Smilier room, I just think that any interactive features would be best contained to the room itself as opposed to being activated by a phone.

Yeah I went berserko on that topics ass. It made them one of the most expensive hotels in the UK (before getting into proper suites) - which was just stupid.

Out of interest, where are you getting that price for the Moon Voyager rooms from? I've checked a few Saturday nights in different months and they are all £333 based on 4 adults sharing or £306 I think it was for 2 adults. Prices are less on Fridays or mid-week I believe.

:)

Doh! Sorry! One of the few good things about my job is the hours, I went on autopilot and was looking at the 14th July. I forget that not everyone considers a Sunday night a weekend! My bad.

The Saturday is £306.00 for a Moon Room. (£418 for Smiler room.) All of my prices are based on two adults since I hate children and don't have any friends.

For anyone booking a room, make sure you ask for 25% off if your last stop at the resort was within 28 days. This can be applied to all room types, Moon Voyager, Suites, even the broom cupboard :p

It can make a big difference, and I am sure it can be applied to the Smiler rooms as well.

Just try and avoid the upselling, although it was done in a very fun, and good humour way with me this morning :)

Photos of the Smiler bedroom are now on the Alton Towers website

That floor is spinning me out!

Looks good though, I love all the cameras around the bad and on the bathroom too :)

It does look cool but Alton (or someone who reviews it) will need to do a really good job convincing me that it's worth the money! I also feel that this room would appeal more to teens/adults and it seems a little cramped for four people.

It looks 'ok' but the fear has been toned right down from the concept art, it looks far to bright and lacks any real menace.

Edit: Maybe I was a bit harsh at first glance. I'm already warming to it, but they'd have to knock the price down by £100.00 to tempt me to book.

Those cameras better not be wired up...although it could prove to be a popular upsell!! New for 2013: Your night. Buy 4 ORP's for the kids and get "Your night" DVD for free!

EDIT: there's one in the shower too haha!

I absolutely love these rooms, probably not a great place to wake up with a hangover though. When I first saw the pics I was completely fooled into thinking the floor wasn't flat.

It's not bad, but for the high price they will inevitably be charging I would expect a double sized room at least (like the other themed rooms) and more actual theming, as oppose to gaudy bright yellow paint, plastic furniture and a cheap metal bunkbed.

Sorry, but for £300-£400 per night nothing less than the very highest of Disney standards are acceptable.

:)

That is true. Did not notice until you pointed it out. Tbh most hotels now have walk in showers rather than baths. I have never had a bath any time I have stayed there. My other half has a few times, but I would rather have a shower.
